There's no need to flood the tunnels up to the top. Waist-high water will hamper their operations pretty well. Additionally the humidity, the unhealthy mold and the erosion of the base of the tunnels will play their part. It is astounding the amount of efford and materials spent digging the tunnels. I mean just dumping the soil without making huge conspicuous hills all over the place should have been some undertaking. With all that money and work they could have been the Singapore of the Mediterranean instead of that mess.

First off Israel has already started conducting flooding of the tunnels at least the ones along the coast and they now started flooding the rest of the tunnels they did say it will take a long time for it to be flooded about several weeks. As far as Hamas and the prisoners most prisoners were dead since a lot of them are being found in the tunnels already deceased a lot of hostages were also not taken by Hamas but were taken by civilians who participated in the raid with Hamas some of the civilians are associated with the United Nations specifically unicef one person in particular was a teacher working for unicef getting a payroll check yet he participated in the kidnapping of a person and that person was in their home. The problem is not just Hamas or the tunnel system but the main problem is the Palestinians themselves since they are a violent people and don't forget that the Palestinians did vote Hamas into office.
