So you're saying there's no reason to download any content because it can be found on the internet? What if it suddenly can no longer be found on the internet? Someone would've archived it to re-upload (or just to keep for themselves). This doesn't often happen except in cases of popular content. Individuals can only rely on themselves for "ensuring" the content they enjoy survives for as long as their enjoyment does. I don't trust Google, Apple, record companies, or artists to keep the music I want around and in the same form. Both movies and music are often regionally revoked, and piracy often isn't an option in this case when looking for less-popular (old, obscure, or both) content without access to private torrent trackers. KZbin videos disappear (deleted, private, unlisted) all the time. Entire channels get removed, and content becomes unwatchable, except for when archivists save the videos. If you'll miss it when it's gone, archive it before it's too late. Use of the archived content *can* be just as, or more, convenient than the online version. The nature of the content is irrelevant. If it's classified as pornographic, it's not necessarily low quality. If it is, obviously don't archive it; the same goes for music and movies. Arguably if the content isn't of quality to be archived, it's not of quality to be consumed, but some content might only be designed to be consumed once (no need to archive if it's for yourself).

I understand the whole “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all” philosophy of life-believe me it was a frequent phrase used in my house-but I thought any comments “helped the algorithm” or whatever so I figured I would just be honest. I suppose I just felt like they weren’t giving the game much of a chance and kept “poo-pooing” it as cheap. I don’t much enjoy “elitist” gamers denigrating new projects. Then again, maybe I was just in a bad mood. I’m sorry to be so negative. I’ll work on it.
