Clark also said on her site that she eats slowly which is a factor that a lot of people are overlooking. Eating slowly helps to get the nutrients from the food and it also prevents you from overeating. It takes a while for your body to realize that you're satiated. I'll admit that I eat too fast because I am usually in a rush.

PS In fairness to Bryan Johnson, the vast majority of the money he spends is on testing and medical staff. I assume at some point as he optimizes some of that will fall away. Plus being so open about what he is doing helps identify the major lifestyle modifiers which he already said was to stop hurting yourself with bad food, lack of exercise, poor sleep, and stress which are all free if you can discipline yourself. Supplements come in far behind all of this.

To be a fair comparison we need to see the entire list of people who have submitted (or better the submitters should be selected at random from the general population) since we need to know how many of them take Novos. There entire submission list might be stacked with low scoring Novos takers and the two leaders simply genetically gifted.

Hey @redberries8039, I'm Chris, Founder of NOVOS. A few things to clarify. First, all of the NOVOS users on the Rejuvenation Olympics leaderboard were NOVOS case study participants. These participants were not affiliated with NOVOS and had never taken our product prior to the case study. They then used Core + Boost for 6 months, and were instructed not to change any other aspect of their lifestyles. The testing was administered by a third party lab, completely independently from us. 73% of participants in the case study improved their pace of aging (average of 1 month per year of slower epigenetic aging), 0% got worse, and all of the NOVOS customers on the Rejuvenation Olympics *improved* from time point 0 to 6 months. The p-value was 0.001. What adds additional weight is that, as Julie says in public interviews, those 6 months were extremely emotionally taxing to her, and she was not sleeping as well, eating as well, etc. Nonetheless, she still improved. Lil Eskey is on the board for greatest improvement in pace of aging before and after NOVOS. We also have dozens of additional NOVOS customers (last count it was around 40) who would be ranked ahead of Bryan on the Rejuvenation Olympics, but we need their permission to submit. With all of this said, we have a lot of scientific evidence that we're excited to share with the community, but need the papers to be submitted first. In the meantime, you can see some of studies that have been run at novoslabs.com/evidence.

Hi Lori, thanks for your thoughts. And thinking about Taze's comments. I think that genetics play a role, however I am not sure that I agree that testing on large groups is the answer (though I agree a non-representative sample of three is only 3 data points!) As each individual has different genetics testing on large groups will help hide the cases with different genes but will not tell you whether it will be effective for you. In this vein I found my conversation with Dr Nathan Price interesting (I think it was in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/hputq2amfLt0ptU) where he talked about having a trial to test a hypothesis of a cause rather than an intervention. In general his approach of doing the work to understand all the variables of health would help in this case. Even if in the case of these two women it is genetics it does not mean a different path is not available for someone with different genes.

Hi Thanks for sharing. I agree. I have a couple of thoughts on this, one is that in general you can get 80% of the benefit by just getting the basics right (diet, exercise, sleep, connection etc.) which need not be expensive. The other is that it is a bit like marketing only 50% of it works, but you don't know which 50%. To elaborate on my second point, you can do everything right but if something is wrong that you are not checking for it will undermine all your efforts. In this case a comprehensive protocol like Bryan's could add value.

I am assuming that all the age tests results submitted to the RO came because of the NOVOS trial. In a podcast Julie was on she mentioned one year. So the difference may be between the average of the first two and the last. It did seem that her PACE age improved during the trial on top of the original number.

Novos Core seems to include a similar range of ingredients to Bryan Johnson's range. I've never heard of Pterostilbene before, though. Have you heard much about it?
@chrismirabile4108
@chrismirabile4108 24 күн бұрын
Hi @reggie5, our formulation was patented in 2021, well before others entered the market. Pterostilbene is a sirtuin activator, found in blueberries. It is far more powerful than its related molecule, resveratrol, because of its better oral bioavailability and half-life.

Hi Reggie, thanks for your comment. Pterostilbene is similar to resveratrol but may have better bioavailability.

Hi Otis, thanks for the comment. It does seem that the leaderboard has not been updated in a while and I mentioned that in the summary. It is disappointing that Bryan Johnson and team have not kept it up to date. I am sure that there would be changes.

It is nice to know that it does not cost millions “to be healthy”? Is there any evidence that a slow Dunedin Pace score is healthy or leads to longevity?
@ModernHealthspan
@ModernHealthspan 24 күн бұрын
Hi Michael, thanks for the question. There is correlation with mortality (so the risk of dying) per the chart that I showed and also with other metrics of health. I am thinking of doing a deeper dive into the clock but you could look at the papers on the clock (linked to in the description) or TruDiagnostic have a simplified write up (drive.google.com/file/d/1sedAx6Yxp8ZAdFmnB0SKh_l5Wre0hsh_/view). The short answer from the papers would be "yes" (at least for health, longevity in humans is very difficult measure)

These epigenetic clocks are pure speculations, with literally zero science backed evidence of “age reversal”. They are mostly driven by supplement companies for specified purposes and ego (such as this video) I take many of these supplements, but I am realistic that we simply don’t have a clock to accurately reflect aging. Peter Attia and many experts discuss this in detail. They put next to no value in anything claiming to calculate “age reversal”

Hi @jontpt, we did not score anyone. The testing was conducted by an independent, 3rd party lab. All of the NOVOS participants on the Rejuvenation Olympics were part of a case study. We have dozens of others who would qualify for the board, they just haven't given permission to post their results.

Not that it matters much, but the pronouncuation for Dunedin is more like dunn-eden. People from North America in particular seem to say something like doon-e-din . Well that's what it sounds like to my Dunedinite ears.

Hi Thanks for your comment. This is obviously a long topic but a key point is that it can be viewed as extending healthspan rather than lifespan (although I did not talk about it, this was a point made by Amy Hardison in her interviews). Given the cost of being ill, remaining healthier for longer is a great investment.

Hi Joe, thanks for the comment. BS in what way? I have presented the data it is up to you to decide whether it has any meaning for you. The PACE clock is from peer reviewed papers and the tests were administered by a third party. With the data available it is not possible to separate how much impact came from the protocol and how much from the supplement. But the overall point that showing good markers of longevity (in the best way we currently have to measure that) does not depend on spending millions is valid.
