This Switch-Focused June Nintendo Direct Could Be..

Nintendo hints at next-gen and huge Nintendo Direct news has surfaced! A June 2024 Nintendo Direct has been confirmed, and it will focus only on Nintendo Switch titles coming out this year! What could Nintendo's upcoming 2024 games be? Perhaps we will see Metroid Prime 4, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, a new Mario Party, a new DK game for Switch, or something completely different and surprising. Let's talk about it!

God! I'd love to see Metroid Prime 2 and 3 remastered Prime 1 style. And a port of Star Fox Zero but with traditional control scheme would be killer!

Too much work to port zero on Zero and would just not be worth it. All you'll be getting is 64 but prettier which isn't appealing and the last thing the series needs right now.

The Olympic Games franchise usually launches a few months in advance, with the 2024 games starting in late July, I’m not too sure, not to mention we got no game for the last Winter Olympics, so I have my doubts.

I think we will get some sort of Fire Emblem remake announced in this upcoming direct, Shadows of Valentia released late in the 3DS lifespan, and many people were predicting a re-make after 3 Houses.... Also, it would parallel the 3DS Fire Emblem games as well, having 2 new Fire Emblem Games (counting Fates as 1 game) followed by a re-make late in the systems life cycle.

they could unveil Metroid Prime 4 at this presentation, but at this point I am convinced that MP4 will be a zelda-style dual launch on both systems at the same time, with the Switch 2 version having enhanced graphics. so they may unveil the Switch version at this presentation, then perhaps announce at a later date that it's also coming to the Switch 2.

@@Filipobunito indeed, but there's two possibilities: 1. they mention that metroid prime 4 will launch on both switch and the next nintendo switch system, while providing absolutely no details about the next switch system, and only showing footage from the switch version. they show footage from the MP4 switch 2 version further down the line (say, September or October). both versions launch simultaneously in Q1 2025 2. they only show a trailer from metroid prime 4 switch version, while mentioning absolutely nothing about the next system. they then show a graphically enhanced version launching on switch 2 further down the line (say, September or October). both versions launch simultaneously in Q1 2025. both 1 and 2 are consistent with not providing any further details about the switch 2 in the June direct.

The only possible massive game left for Switch, is Prime 4. I don’t think it’s fully moved over to Seitch 2, but I bet it’s cross Gen and enhanced on switch 2. The rest of what we will get, will be remasters and smaller titles. It would be really dumb to announce big titles less than a year from Switch 2’s launch. Save them all for next year.

Here are my 5 wishlist wants/predictions for the June Direct. 1. Peach Showtime DLC 2. A new Mario Baseball game (been wanting that for a while and it could fit since it’s in June.) 3. Mario Party Superstars DLC. (Really want that too.) 4. Possible LOZ remasters 5. Chrono Trigger Switch

First of all, why would they skip Wind Waker for Twilight Princess? Second, Twilight Princess was dual release that released on Wii first and even Nintendo themselves view Twilight Princess as more of Wii game for that reason. Third, why would it be just another HD port when many fans still play Wii U versions? Fourth, if they were releasing another port, why couldn't they have just released this in 2022, when they literally had plenty of time to release another port, especially one that they've already ported before? Fifth, how would this even work when they're getting rid of social media sharing functions next month. One of the key features of both HD versions is being to share stuff with the community. Unless their updating their NSO app to be more of like their own social media platform and/or they utilize the community function from the old HD version(s), I don't see any of the HD ports coming to Switch. Sixth, wouldn't it make more sense for them to just remaster Wind Waker instead? Especially considering how much time to spending to work on bringing either of those games to Switch, assuming that they've been doing that all that time? And finally, seventh, these games have already been ported in HD before, why not give us a different Zelda game that hasn't been ported in HD before, like A Link Between Worlds instead and save Wind Waker and Twilight Princess for Switch 2, if they were just gonna give us another port? Releasing old outdated versions of games we already have more than one version of makes no sense. It makes so much more sense if we're getting a brand new Wind Waker remaster or an enhanced port of A Link Between Worlds. Also, I wouldn't count on Metroid Prime 4 appearing since Tanabe has had his hands full with Paper Mario lately and they're obviously saving Prime 4 for Switch 2 at this point. And I don't think see them announcing Star Fox Assault ported to Switch or a new DK game either. I literally wouldn't expect anything big or major to be announced or revealed next month since Furukawa stated that there's not gonna be any mention of Switch 2 at all. The June direct is just gonna be the sad swan song for the Switch. It's literally probably just gonna be another Partner Showcase since they're likely saving all the first party stuff for 2025 on Switch 2 to be shown in the September direct instead. That all said, getting our hopes too high for June direct would not be wise.

I think Metroid Prime 2 Remastered is a near-certainty. WW and TP I'm optimistic about. I think it would also be perfect timing to put Red and Blue on NSO - think it would tide people over a lot till Legends comes out next year :)

As someone who played a lot of zero and got all of the medals, StarFox Zero would not and should not be ported to the switch. StarFox zero is game literally made to demonstrate the potential of the wii u game pad so it would be difficult to try and translate it to switch especially if they decide to add the option to turn the motion controls off. Nintendo just wouldn't want to do that as Zero embodied the wii u and nintendo did everything it can to get away from that brand. Nintendo NEEDS to make a brand NEW game with a new story and older characters making a return. But most importantly, stop using StarFox for gimmicks as its only ever done harm then good. If we were to get a remake of a previous game, it would be for the best to NOT remake 64 game again. Its a classic, its timeless but but for the love of god its not the only starfox game. A remake of StarFox Adventures or StarFox Assault would be far more appealing at this point.

They are okay now because it's the last year of the switch, the end of a life cycle. The newer games are being made and saved for the next system which they are okay with. The reason why people are expressing wanting these games on switch because they had an expectation that we would have gotten these games already. Which to be fair I was one of those people, I had the expectation that they would make a new StarFox game on the switch. I wanted Star Fox on the switch, its the reason I got a switch. So the switch life cycle ending soon make me and others very worried that StarFox would miss the switch which has done wonders for other IPs. The Zelda ports though, IDK. I guess they just really want those games on switch even though they have more then enough games.

The last thing I want to see is Metroid Prime 2 and 3 ports to Switch. I'm tired of them dragging their feet with MP4, and I want them to show off the game they announced for Switch 7 years ago already, not keep nostalgia-baiting with (potential) ports instead of giving us what we really want.
