another theory: 1.a young boy's dad gets killed by a gang 2.the young boy lives without his dad and is starving ("im hungry") 3.the young boy tries to revenge on the gang members by killing them (37564) 4.he feels really guilty 5.then,he opens an incinerator (crackling sounds) 6.he shuts the door (bang sound") 7.he jumps in and commits suicide 8.because japanese is a religious country there is the train horn, have people ever said something about the train to heaven? thanks gh00st for giving me some inspo and developed it with mine. that's my theory.

I feel the song is less about a real story, and moreso symbolizing how this might've been planned to be the last song of the 2000 series, specially with how it's the hardest of the ones beforehand and it's constant theme around death and killing. I theorize it's essentially a song about not wanting the series to end, but things having to come to an end even if you don't want to, the "i'm hungry" line represents it not wanting to end and generally having an urge for more, and the door shut plus train whistle symbolizing moving on to another series, kinda like traveling by train to move somewhere else.

Personally, I believe that スーハー2000 is also pretty dark, and is allegedly about a man turning to drugs after being dumped by his girlfriend. Even by today’s standards, スーハー2000 is still one of the hardest songs to ever be featured on Chojin (The grade before Tatsujin). If not for Laur joining the party with his outrageously hard song called Chimimoryo （魑魅魍魎）, it would still have been the hardest Chojin song.

My personal interpretation of the song for a while now has been that the MC had starved to death, hence the "I'm hungry". The "massacre" or "kill everyone" could be a reference to either how starvation kills anyone subjected to it long enough, or the MC's hostility to having their life ended this way without anyone to help them. The burning of a fire has always seemed like the burning of a cremation oven to me,(if they're called that) and the slam at the end I interpreted as what the door of the cremation chamber being shut would sound like on the inside. The poem in the middle of the song seems to be the MC talking to themselves to become content with how their life was, even if it was very difficult. In the end as the MC's soul hovers around their body, waiting to be free from its physical ties to Earth, they grow content with everything. When the swelling whistle at the end plays, I saw it as the MC's soul being transported to heaven in one swift motion or light. The sequence of blue and red notes at the end of the song no longer being related to the story, but being a reminder to anyone who went looking into the songs meaning, that death "kills everyone". Then again, this was just my personal interpretation of the story. Whatever story you find for the song, the general theme of death and acceptance of life is still there.

The scenario i always imagine to this song is a forest. Someone escaped from war to that forest and started a bonfire to keep themselves warm. But they had no food and simply starved to death The bang and the flute at the end can maybe symbolize some kind of a sudden but happy death Like maybe some soldiers (or maybe a wild animal) found the person and killed them rather quickly? Or the person died just from starving. But the drum bang and the flute are supposed to show that it sas quicker than expected. That it wasnt something bad. It was rather a start of something happy. Thats why theyre saying theyre hungry Thats why you can hear the fire Thats why there is the number thing about "killing everyone" and the other word Just a thought of mine (Sorry for any spelling mistakes)

The crackle could also be that of a record on a turntable, getting louder as it ages, and the metallic slam kinda reminds me more of how in some earlier DDR songs if you fail two metallic doors slam shut on the screen. So it seems to be more a send-off for the future of the series, gone are the days of having fun and in its stead is dedication to high scores and perfectionism. Which would similarly tie into both why the song is ludicrous hard, and why its max combo count is 999 exactly. The pursuit of perfectionism is hopeless and eternal, and that’s why we love it. I see it more along the lines of “put these songs to rest. Get your perfect full combos all you like, because while you may not be able to get all of them in your lifetime, rest easy with the ones you do have. We gave you these insurmountable challenges, and yet you did them.” It also in my mind explains that whole “I’m Hungry” stuff. It’s dissatisfaction, not hunger. The playerbase wants more, more songs, more challenge. And as the difficulty ceiling gets higher, so too does the amount of adversity needed to sate us.

4:48 when the horn sounds, the notes/beats give you one final 37564 with a blue note/beat in between each number of notes/beats. So, its like: 3 red notes, 1 blue note, 7 red notes, 1 blue note. 5 red notes. 1 blue note. 6 red, 1 blue, 4 red and 4 more blues. The reds representing the numbers 37564.

i saw one interesting comment connecting the jobutsu lore to another song in the series, ekiben2000. ekiben also takes place on a train with a pov of a foreign traveler going to japan, angry with loud passengers and the lack of a lunch box provided. it makes sense bc the french in jobutsu indicates a foreigner and the "kill everyone" line describing the foreigners anger leading to them obliterate the passengers and the "im hungry" from the lack of food,, idk its a Huge tonal shift considering ekiben is a silly song but makes the most sense

I personally believe that the singer was declared dead after a massacre but was still conscious and thinking about how hungry he is. The french is more of a narrator in this lil interpretation of mine. At the end, he's cremated while still "alive". In all honesty though the last note just feels like a little song ending thing instead of a horn.

Also, while Jouboutsu might've been the hardest at the time of its release (like 10ish years ago), it's definitely NOT the hardest now, I wouldn't even put it remotely close to the top 50 hardest lol.
