if a 279e is facing you head on its right shoulder (left to you) is where the ammo rack is. if he angles to his left put rounds on that triangle plate right above the cable shackle and you'll rack it every time.

@@nicolarighetto3767 no it's an easy pen because the most effective armor at that is 280mm-290mm of armor (with an advantage of being angeled), but the middle of the ufp can still be penned with anything above 329mm of pen. I have the 279 (e) and do comp clan war battles so I have to learn every weak spot. You just need to aim better no offense lol.

It's too late. NA server is pretty much dead. Tier 8 and up matches are pretty much half of every team driving OP premium tanks shooting gold ammo. Pretty hard to even xp tech tree tanks, so I dont even bother trying anymore. Playing since '11, barely play 2 matches a month now. Mostly just to remind myself why I dont bother to play anymore

Was looking at T-55 A in wiki wargaming earlier today. The battle tiers listed for it were 9, 10 and 11. I laughed at it being a mistake, but then thought of how the 279e and Chieftain belong in tier 11. Please make it happen WG. Make more reward tanks like the 279e and Chieftain and put them in tier 11. Allow tier 10 to be fun again while making a tier that is challenging and fun for players that are allegedly the best by making a reward tank only tier.

It and the Chieftain have kept me from playing tens for years. It’s simply not fun. I have no clan wars rewards tanks. Hard to fight in them unless you have those two. I played a few as a Smurf for a friends clan a few months ago. Every game was those two tanks vs a starting clan. Guess how many battles they won running tech tree tanks vs those clans. None. They weren’t bad players either

The 50TP showed exactly whats so incredibly broken about this stupid tank. Even from a distance of 20 meters the 50TP had to sit through that arguous aiming time to hope RNG would allows the ONLY pixel-'weakspot' this dumbass that has frontally. Also... judging from the tanks track-layout, this thing should be horrendous with vehicular traverse, because the tracks would add a great amount of ground resistance and friction from accumulated sand etc between the many track sets.

Probably because it won't always work, unlike the EBR the 279e and the chieftain are much rarer and harder to get. Plus it would defeat WGs goal of having OP tanks roll over swarms of weaker tanks. (Lets be honest thats the only gameplay WG cares about, one player trashing the entire team with an OP tank)

Honestly, while this tank is as toxic as you describe, I quite rarely encounter one, which makes it not the biggest problem. Things like wheeled vehicles, the ELC or the Bourrasque on the other hand are in pretty much every game and they deserve some nerfs as well. Doesn't mean this thing shouldn't be nerfed though. When I encounter one of these, they mostly play extremely aggressive, so I load HE, permatrack them and let my team farm it. I have quite a good laugh every time :D

My personal damage record is like 9990 or so, in the S.Conq, with a last second decap, and a whole 3 shells left in my ammorack when I died, and my platoonmate pulled it back together. Second is 9891 in the STB-1, on Tundra of all maps. Both of them, while undoubtably strong, are not as broken as the 279Error or the Chieftard. Another thing to add, is that Wargaming will never nerf reward tanks. Likely odds are, they already know how unhealthy the 279E and the Chieftain, due to it likely pissing off their biggest customers, who have all the premium tanks, years upon years of premium time, endless supplies of gold, and probably also a massive, crippling debt.

It makes no sense to think that the top 5% of the playerbase if what WG thinks about because they are the customers, when the reality is that the most money comes from the tomato section where there is a lot of older people with money willing to buy whatever WG throws at them. On the other hand, I can assure you as part of the 1% of the playerbase (I'm a Tilt member) that most competitive and top players want a chieftain nerf. The meta in clan wars have became quite stale and we top players are bored about it as well.

I think that works well for PVE games, but for PVP it is more complicated. You can have some sort of tier system to progress, and then you fight other equally experienced people, but if you get to a point where one competitor is actually using better equipment than another, it starts to become unclear whether the person who won was the better player. If the disparity gets large enough it's not even interesting to watch anymore, you already know who is going to win. I think the best scenario for competitive games is that the more work you put into the game, the better you know how to use the tools the game gives you, but you still have the same tools as the other guy. For this to happen the game needs to be complex enough where you always have things to learn, but simple enough that a new player can start playing. You become known and recognized for your skill, not for your seniority. At least this is my take on activities where people compete against each other.

Where I disagree is the fact that this game has a lot of strategic elements, and one of the most widely known strategies is to try and have an unfair advantage over whoever you are fighting. There are many times I’m in a situation in WoT where I’m in a super weak tank and come across a 279. The best course of action there is to run and fight the other flank and get behind it eventually. The only reason I’m arguing all of this is because with QB pushing for every tank to be able to perform exactly the same, that will make the game stale and boring. There needs to be variety

@@vardico-o7 We agree on both counts. As far as PVP games go, I think what differentiates a boring one and a great one is managing to have variety and keep it balanced. It's why Starcraft 1 had such a cult following in South Korea for example. I also agree on the part about having unfair advantages, in a way: The example you gave was of something that every player in that match could have done, and I think that kind of nuance is great to have. It sets apart the good and the bad or inexperienced players, and is something that the defeated player can learn from and maybe integrate into his gameplay. It also encourages talking to others players, watching streams and so on. Now if that advantage is something that one player has and the other just doesn't, it doesn't generate any of that, and in some cases people might even feel slighted when they are defeated, like they would have won if they had the same tool. The mindset can go from "progressing" to "grinding towards".

It should be a superheavy class in WoT, and should be new MM rules for the amounts of this class on each team to be equal. It's a fact that whenever is a team having a 279(e) (or T95/Chieftain or a superheavy Maus/Type5) and the other doesn't, it's a 100% win. Whenever that happens this team has a huge advantage because while the other team struggles to focus and take out that single one OP HP-pool of a tank, the rest of the advantaged team has the time to easily slaughter them. The MM rules about EBRs worked great, time for a real update on balance.

The tank is a toxic addition. I’m mad as a good player who can’t get the chieftain because I don’t clan, but even if I could get the 279e I wouldn’t. Clapping causal players with OP tanks will eventually result in fewer of them coming back to play.

Qb the best place to aim for is the headlight on this tank aslong as you have 150mm gun it penertrates with AP rounds
