Yeah this thing is pretty tragic when it gets uptiered, because the play style is very aggressive and heavy-tank like but at higher tiers your armor isn’t really that good and your gun can’t do that well at range. At the right MM it literally is a tier 7 Bobject

@StanleyMilgramm It is reasonably mobile to avoid unfavorable engagements. The pen is enough to still pen higher tiers weak spots from the front. Even if the tier 9's may need a little gold. The armor can still bounce some tier 8 shots if angled, just not super reliably. Compare that to a tiger1, tigerP, AT7, O-Ni, IS, a black prince, etc. All tanks that can struggle to pen higher tiers, have poor mobility, and or no armor against higher tiers. I will take the su100m over any of those tanks against higher tiers.

That was the point. They nerfed tanks to artificially boost tanks that weren't as popular, particularly the brand new line. Bottom line: dont enjoy tanks too much or it'll get nerfed into the ground.

Now, try doing that on NA servers. Even pre-nerf, the armor on this meant absolute dick. EVERYONE spams gold no matter WHAT tier you play at.

With the right MM this is basically the Bobject at tier 7. It has been broken as hell since it went from glass cannon to brutal cannon. The nerf was necessary for it. If it doesn't have better wr is due to the fact that at tier 9 matches it's just a bug vs Phase 1, Type 4 Heavy, Tortoise, E75...and that kept it in check

They need to do real game balancing like removing the plus 2 matchmaking and reworking tech tree grinds. It's insane trying to get xp in a bottom tier stock tank when the rest of the enemy are running fully upgraded tanks and can out trade you every single time.

Seeing everyone call this tank OP at tier 7 makes it obvious why wargaming doesn't listen to the players very often. Especially while everyone complains premium tanks are always better than the tech tree tanks. Then most people complains when a tech tree tank is even comparable. I love this game but the fan base is extremely fickle.

I am currently grinding this techtree (on the Su101 now) and I really loved this tank so much to grind, I even used my bounty improved aiming to boost the accuracy on this tank (because I hate inaccurate tanks). It took me unusually long to get an ace tanker on this tank, roundout 50 games, normally it takes me like 30-40 games to ace. The requirments are quite high. Sad that its getting nerfed, but thats fair tbh.

WG and QB are wrong. And I do not disagree with QB very often but Stop nerfing tech tree tanks. Some of us players are not as good as QB and others good players. We never will be that good, whether it’s because we’re older or have something in our lives that we will never be as good as them or even make it to average. But having a couple tech tree tanks that are powerful, give us a tank to play and maybe even the playing field for us. It’s only a few which makes our choice is very limited, but at least we have them choices to help us. So QB and WG. Stop nerfing tech tree tanks. 🤘😎 Tankers

@@y0mir all tanks being equal is very boring. I am 57 years old veteran with severe arthritis in my hands especially my knuckles. Hard for me to use keyboard and mouse. I do play a lot of TDs. So having a few tech tree tanks that might be a little better helps me be close to competitive. And I mostly play these vehicles it helps. And if people weren’t so toxic on chat at me that would help.

Amazing how out of touch you can be with the game after not playing it for a while. When I last played this tank it was classed as bad (I did not mind it for its speed) this was back when obj 263 was tier 10! Likewise the SU-122--54 was disliked but I was fine for its mobility :)

Either just the luckiest session in the SU-100M1 ever, the SEA/EU servers aren’t the sh!t show the NA server is, or cherry picked replays because this video seriously highlights this vehicle in a way that’s anything but indicative of its typical MM or performance. If you’re top tier it can shine with its dpm and troll armor but that’s rarely the case.

A bit unrelated to the video, but I would love to know your opinion of the upcoming server updates to ASIA with the cloud based server to replace Hong Kong and Australia i hope it will be good because I either have to have a 5-10 minute queue (only can match tier 8-10) in Australia with 8ms ping or a fast queue but 440ms ping to HK. Even just getting 200ms ping would be amazing

3 marking a tank is not less challenging when it gets nerfed. Idk why you keep saying that qb. Tanks like the 279e are harder to mark not because they are op, but because the better players have them. You always compete against the same players for each 3 mark and if the players are the same then it doesn't matter if a tank gets buffed or nerfed. The only valid argument against my theory is that when a tank is strong, the better players tend to want to play it more. When the tank gets nerfed then the better players stop playing it and thus the 3 mark requirements might drop a little bit (in a relative way; not by absolute numbers, which is obvious anyway).

I must've always played against knowledgeable players in this tank. Even top tier, never felt this tank was OP. Pretty much always had gold spam and that traverse speed was atrocious. Got 1 MoE in it and then stopped playing it.

i think the most mad op thing in this game is light tank jump from t7 to t8. t7 light against t8 light is just stupid. and not that the tank itself is worse, that is fine, but the CVS difference, that is mad. i like playing against t9 tanks in a t7 light tank, but mm should not allow t8 and t7 lights mix.

Most people don´t have a camo, 75% crew and play vehicles stock at t5/6. Sure there are 15% with a camo and good crew/modules, but just showing games when top tier 7 and fully maxed is really nothing to brag about or making a point how something is OP. I have respect for your t8+ skill, but not for this.

It's great when you get good MM, but let's be real: On a good day you might get 1 game in 10 where you're top tier at T7. The rest are T9, or T8 OP Premium-fests. But, typical WG: "Let's nerf the tech-tree tanks, because we can't make £££s with those."

On the NA server you will get just 1 in 15 battles the t6-t7 matchmaking so its not fun to play. Because as Quickybaby mentioned E75 wil two shot you, and tier 8 overpowered premiums like the skodat56 will do that in a few seconds, and the bz176 van one shot you with a high roll So Quickybaby for the very first time I gave you a tumbs down, you just have to add some two shots from an E75 or a one shot from a bz176 at this tank to give a balanced opinion. Now you cherry picked games that you just rarely get....

Surely the definition of unbalanced is when a vehicle can destroy certain games and not others. I literally ruined 20-30% of all games I entered with this tank for, arguably, the other 29 players. I'm very happy this is getting balanced and that T5 and 6 have even a slim chance of fighting back, even with gold.

I agree with your answer its not nice when 1 player with an overpowered tanks destroy the game for 29 others. So I hope that wargaming will nerf the bz176 and Skodat56 too. Hey QB, just want to say I have been watching since I started playing WOT and love your content. I recently got my first RW Medal and managed to do so in the FV4005, even destroyed a few lights from full health in 1 shot ahah. Thought I’d share, keep up the amazing work! So they nerf the M1 back to what it was. In the past when I played it, the only real armor was around the gun. (+ glas cannon) It was hard to play but it was fun. The next tank (SU-101) had one of the worst economy in the game back then and you only had the (second) T-54 gun with 219 pen and 320 dmg as top gun. (Like playing pure gold with a less capable E25 against Tier 10.) The formula for this TD tech tree was: You are good against your tier, okay against the tier above and worse against the top tier. From Tier 9 on you had a better tank (SU-122-54) like a T-54 tank destroyer with the T-10 gun. I still wish to this day WG had kept the tech tree as it was with the 263 as Tier 10.

This thing was a bit of a special tank to me. It was my second fastest ace tanker, only taking me four games. For someone like me who generally doesn't do well enough to get ace tankers, I was super thrilled. I'm a bit sad to see it nerfed, but it kind of deserved it.

This tank was absolutely OP especially against less knowledgeable players. I up tiered to the next one and kept this one (usually i sell tanks once i get to higher tier). When i want to have fun i go back to this one.
