Still think Micheal Boulton might be the optimal solution for the CDM position. He has superb defensive stats, but his offensive stats are bit lacking for a truly elite wing back. I know his match ratings are great but those might also be a bit skewed, since he scores so often from corners due to being a physical freak.

FM, unfortunately, doesn't care that much about technical attacking attributes, especially in a wingback. Great physicals and mentals really carry Boulton.

Thing i have FMs where Bolton could be at RM, he is playing amazing as a RB and good CMs are easy to find come the Rugby town rep improves

Michael boulton can play in midfield. That is his natural position. With so many wingbacks, there is no need for Michael to play wingback anymore.

Jack your tactic is insane, I used it to win the quintuple in sevilla, and now I'm currently unbeaten at brighton in my first season after facing all the top 6 teams. FM isn't easy the 4-2-2-2 is a busted system in this match engine for whatever reason

Can see why. The defenders can't cope with 2 strikers and 2 AM-A who go into those striking roles. DMs don't track back enough to cover and 2-3CBs can do nothing against 4 guys in the middle. All 4 drop off into space sometimes and break the offside trap other times and the defenders don't know whether to come or go. Concedes a fair few but less than they should too. So often you see players in space with 2+ players breaking the high line but they go sideways or backwards a lot. Possibly because the AI are more likely to play on more defensive mentalities?

I have been rolling with a 1.5 star keeper from tier 8 to the Van National North. He has good reflexes and aerial, is very eccentric, but makes incredible saves ALL THE TIME. He loves big matches and is Very Consistent, I think those stats and those traits might be the key to a good keeper. I won't even bring in a better keeper because he is to good. In promotion playoffs he has been lights out. Elliot Ellis, not a regen, excellent keeper.

In my experience, the only DM combos that seem to get decent ratings are DLP and Segundo Volante. Stuff like DM, half back and BWM really don't seem to work.

The whole talk of Bayern here amuses me, as in SecondYellowCard's 'Build a Nation: Malta' Bayern (which you talked about, with his love for Belgian amateur players) year after year is one of the worst teams in his CL save, very rarely qualifying to even the second round, which is funny to me. If you spend your budget on transfers then it is spent once. Spend it on wages, and it is spent 4-5x depending on contract length. So it makes sense to have a hard limit on wages with some limited flexibility on top to move money between the two.
