Listening to this comes with a sense of a rolling climax. A wave that is in a continuous state of crescendo and descendo, and simultaneously of present fullness.

Most of us don't really want the truth...we want some kind of whizbang.

I would agree that there is this tendency in us to chase after the spiritual highs. And, as a result of imagining that our freedom, well-being, awakening, etc. lies in particular states and experiences, we tend to miss the key point that the greatest freedom and well-being is actually found through discovering what is common/equally present in ALL states and experiences.

whats so strange about not being able to a passing experience. the entire universe is a passing experience. not to mention our pitifully short lives ofc.

Then WHY are we always looking for new experiences...even when we know this! I did love this exploration tho ....but that question kept arising. Glad to find this🙏

I think our well-worn habit of searching for some other moment that we imagine would be better, more satisfying, etc. is rooted in how we're defining what's appearing experientially. We think we know what experiences are and then based on that presumed knowledge, seek after those moments we consider, based on our definitions, to be lacking in some way.

Great Offering John. Thank you so much. Aclimatising to the sense of everything that arises being my true nature: being. Pretty Lively :-) Funny dream arose towards the end of the second or third play of this: I sit before a carousel of near infinite fantastical experiences, and while each experience passes I wish for one on a different section of the carousel, until every experience that I wished for has arisen at the wrong point in the sequence. Why? (rhetorical)

Wrong point in the sequence? Maybe there are no "wrong" points :-)

Hi John. Intriguing video as always. In your opinion, do you think formless awareness can exist without the objects that are appearing it? For example, maybe at death all perceivable objects from earth life are removed and formless awanress is left to simply be and perceive itself? Or do you think being, perceiving and the perceived are interdependent and without objects to perceive, awareness would cease too? Thanks 🙏
