This is SO EPIC! They did this outside, in the cold, in one night. That sofa that keeps moving is actually on a real street. The fact that they did this so perfectly is astounding. Mitch with that megaphone is CRAZY!

I saw you go for the drink and was like "that's unfortunate timing... yep." I've said it before, but I appreciate your appreciation of Mitch. Most people who fan Kirstin do it at the expense of Mitch (and arguably vice versa). You strike a really nice balance.

Took PTX about 3 years to create this cover because they wanted it to be as close the original by Queen! I would say they nailed it! Fantastic Reaction! 💜

A) I haven't laughed that hard in weeks, thank you! B) new phrase, "Mitch Refluxed?" C) 1000 people will tell you he doesn't need the megaphone, he does it live w/o it. True. It does not, however, sound "the same" as the produced version. I hate it when fans discount their production team, who do outstanding things in the studio!

Truth! The megaphone is a prop insofar as they weren't singing live in the video... but Kevin has verified that they added distortion to Mitch's voice for the studio release. The megaphone represents the distortion effect. Mitch sounds arguably as good doing it live... but not the exact same, no.

@@perfectkismet I totally agree with you. Mitch is one-of-a-kind. Each one of them are one-of-a-kind. I was scared when Avi left, I was afraid they would be missing something. I love Avi he is great. They did bring someone in and he is an asset to the band a very great asset. (Sorry I don't know his name) I pray that Avi left on good terms he will definitely be missed.

Yep. Ditto for "Daft Punk." I've heard 5 different performances of it and the studio produced performance definitely has electronic effects added and autotune. And Katie, Avi left amicably, by all appearances. He just had life going on and conflicting with their punishing tour schedule. He helped them find Matt to replace him, but yes, Avi is just as irreplaceable as any of the others. When I hear them perform the things they originally arranged with Avi in mind (like "Daft Punk," especially) I *really* miss Avi being there, and when I hear Avi's solo work, I love it but I also miss the level of vocal acrobatics he came up with for PTX. That is not intended to dump on Matt, though. His particular tone also adds to the group in a different way, so they arrange their new music with Matt in mind in a different way than they would for Avi. And Matt's underlying purr made PTX's rendition of "Your a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" the funniest I've heard. Just suits the mischief of the song in a way I'm not sure even Avi could.

I am surprised no one in the comments mentioned the easter eggs they littered throughout the song! 1. The couch they all started on is a reference to their beginnings where they would sit on one of their couches and record their youtube videos after Sony dropped them a week or so after winning the Sing Off. And the way it is moving references their progress as a group. 2. The night sky scene with the shooting stars is a reference to Dr. Brian May Queen's guitarist and also an astrophysicist. Each shooting star a member of Queen. Brian May saw this cover and put a link to it on his social media with one word. 'Enjoy!' 3. A lot of the visuals in this cover mimic the visuals of the original music video with how they are arranged on the couch for the operatic part and how they fan out or hide behind Kirstie before coming out the sides to do their part. 4. One I recently learned is that when Mitch goes to lay down on the couch and the rest are walking alongside it references Freddie Mercury's death and the other members are Pallbearers for his coffin. 5. The way they are all laying on the couch is a tip of the hat to the cover art of Queen's album 'Sheer Heart Attack' I am also pretty sure that Mitch is a reincarnation of Freddie Mercury - Freddie died the year before Mitch was born - Mitch can grow the Freddie Mercury mustache and he also bears a striking and eerie similarity to Freddie (Especially in the Creep unmasked version from Masked Singers show!)

Yes but, huge Mitch fan though I am, it took Scott to kill that rockier part. I think they're absolute geniuses for getting the best person to sing the parts. It's also a testament to their regard for each other that it always turns out to be right. Being an old man, I think that a lot of modern music doesn't live up to the music I grew up with but PTX is the absolute exception to that. They're talented, original, detailed and have the best support with their arrangements and videos. They're also continually evolving and that also gets my respect. 10 years and still going strong. I hope they outlive me (as a band. They will definitely outlive me as individuals). The same can be said about Superfruit and the other offshoots, including Avi. When they use musicians they invariably exactly suit the song.
