Also sorry to nitpick but I'm a microbiologist lol. On the 1,700 viruses in glacial water thing....we live in a microbial world so everything is kinda infested with bacteria and viruses. So there being 1,700 different viruses in the water in and of itself isn't a concern, there is a possibility some of those viruses could be harmful but chances are most aren't. The milk reaction was fair because unpasteurized milk is KNOWN to carry pathogens, or microbes KNOWN to be harmful to human health. Most of the water viruses probably aren't pathogenic however, just microbial members of the environment 😊 Edit: I stg I have a PhD from Harvard and have published research in the Lancet Microbe but getting a top liked comment on a D'Angelo video is the crowing achievement of my life 😂🥹😭

@AG-bq2zd viruses are the most numerous entities on the planet - by far. Most viruses that we interact with aren't formally described. If you go in your backyard and get a spoonful of dirt and sequence the viruses you'll probably discover a few yourself. As any amateur forager would tell you, the very first rule of eating plants you found outside of the grocery store before identification is DONT! I can understand thinking they look like tomatoes and wanting to know, I can even grasp the concept of an average person thinking they are tomatoes and biting into it without ID, but realizing they probably aren’t edible and taking another bite on camera? At that point she’s either clueless or looking for attention. All that to correct a common misconception I noticed. Nightshade is commonly assumed to be deadly or at least poisoness no matter what plant you’re talking about, but that’s not entirely true. Sure, don’t go around eating any tomato like plant you spot, but there’s a reason they tend to look like tomatoes. Tomatoes, potatoes, bell peppers, eggplants, and even black nightshade berries are all tasty and delicious nightshade plants. Almost everyone has eaten some form of nightshade. I also figured I’d point out that Donald is faking his reactions to the spice. Birds are unable to experience spice because they can’t taste capsaicin. I find it funny not a single person realized that before they created a fully animated segment of a duck eating hot cauliflower. Anyway, great video! I don’t use TikTok anymore and avoid major American news outlets so I don’t hear as much as I used to, and this got me up to speed on a lot of things. i appreciate this video so much, because the whole demure and mindful thing has been driving me up a wall because i couldn't for the LIFE OF ME figure out if the original video was a joke or not. i thought surely it must be, but then i found an interview where that angle wasn't addressed at ALL, so i went right back to the drawing board. knowing it was sarcastic from the start is very helpful for my sanity lmao, i rly thought we were all out here being like "yessss drag your coworkers for daring to dress how they like!!!"

I haven't read any of the Donald Duck comics myself but I have seen pages that get posted on tumblr from time to time, and one such page had a duck saying he was going to go out and hunt ducks, prompting another to panic and say, "Don't shoot me, I'm *domesticated*!" The first duck then reassured the other that he only intended to hunt real ducks. So, in that world, animals that are anthropomorphic people are considered domesticated, and animals that are not anthropomorphic and are not people are real, and it isn't strange for domesticated animal to hunt a real one. Even if Donald duck was eating duck wings instead of chicken wings on Hot Ones, it wouldn't ethically be considered cannibalism so long as the wings were sourced from real ducks. It probably also would be considered cannibalism if he ate meat sourced from a differwnt species than himself, if it was sourced from a domesticated (anthro) animal. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk

Intermediate-level forager here! The nightshade family is complicated. Being part of the nightshade family, on its own, isn’t a red flag because that’s also the same family as tomatoes and peppers and potatoes and eggplants, and we even have some less commonly thought of wild edible nightshades like black nightshade. However, the bigger issue is that there are by far more plants that you can’t eat than ones you can. If you don’t know what something is, keep it out of your mouth. And if you think you do know what it is, make 100% sure that you’re right before you eat it. Almost everything has a dangerous lookalike if you’re not careful with the details

@@moonface710 Unfortunately it’s not really one of those things that can/should be a ‘it’s your individual choice, we can agree to disagree’ because the health concerns with raw milk can be contagious. E.g. tuberculosis - one person contracting it because they drank raw milk can and has caused outbreaks that affect people who never chose to drink raw milk. It’s a public health concern in the same way that vaccinations are, because the effects of it are wider than the individual making the choice to ignore FDA and health experts’ advice 😭

Actually, regarding the Donald thing, it's been addressed a few times in various continuities! In one of the comics, Donald's cousin Fethry says he's going duck hunting, with Donald responding "But why me? I'm domesticated!" with Fethry then saying he means *real* ducks. In Ducktales 2017, there's a clip where Webby and Lena, also ducks, are feeding a pack of ducks, with a martian looking at them confused. In the general Mickey & Friends lore, the speaking, walking, humanoid animals are considered domesticated. It's not that Pluto doesn't have human rights, he's just not a human. He's a real dog.
