My friend was convinced that this was happening to her. Turns out the fibers got more prevalent and scary the more meth she did. I think there could be a connection there……seriously though she was on meta and she would capture them and bring them to the doctor etc. she also thought they turned into like glass under her skin. When the doctors would politely tell her there wasn’t anything there/wrong she convinced herself they were covering it up/in on it. When I wouldn’t agree and try to show her that it was nothing she would get very upset. It’s sad really.

This is caused from meth 100%!! A lot of people do it but it has such a stigma that no one talks about it but this is a meth side effect. It happened to me when I used to do meth too. I would go to the doctors and show them that I had fibers under my skin that were moving and I thought I had parasites under my skin as well. It was very scary and real. Then after that I started having delusions about the government stalking me and sabotaging me. I wish more people knew that this is meth side effects! Once I stopped meth all of that went away!

The fact that the doctor just said there's nothing wrong... like there is something wrong, but not with the lint, it's the patient! Doc should've used the time to assess possible drug use and/or psychosis. These patients need help because if they get dismissed they'll grow more paranoid and less likely to seek help, so also less likely to get better

While this is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen, it also makes me feel kinda bad as someone who has to fight paranoia quite often (although never to this degree). I can’t imagine the amount of stress and misery I’d have if I genuinely thought that fabric fibers were trying to crawl into my skin and harm me

I used to have friends whose parents were hardcore IV methamphetamine addicts, and they acted exactly like this when we were growing up. I didn't know what was wrong with them at the time because I was a teenager and I didn't know about that sort of thing yet. I also thought they were really crazy and was afraid of them in passing. I could only imagine what it would have been like to be raised by them. It messed them up so badly that they are now homeless, alcoholic methamphetamine addicts, and worse off than their parents were.

ive suffered with delusional parasitosis before, partly because of ocd but ive also had bouts of psychosis multiple times in my lifetime. i hadnt heard of morgellons until the sawbones podcast did an episode where they talked about it in like 2021, i wouldve been incredibly vulnerable to believing i had it. its a terrifying thing to go through, and ive had some pretty bad infections from picking at my skin just to like. MAKE SURE there wasnt anything under any bump. thats something that still affects me. unfortunately when it comes to the mentally ill, we are a very easy target for propaganda. when youre feeling crazy and like nobody believes you, youre going to seek out those who DO. sadly, many meet them before they can ever get psychological help, and that downward spiral into conspiracy theories is brutal. once you believe that the government is doing this to you and everyone else is covering it up, its unlikely youll believe anyone who wants you to get help. even if i disagree with a lot of their political opinions in these conspiracy groups, i still feel really awful for them. my case wasnt too severe, i can only imagine how terrified this woman truly is. how horrified new moms feel when theres some random thread from an old shirt stuck to their babys chins, and when they google it theyre told its a parasite that the government refuses to do anything about. its sad.

I relate to this. I have adhd and I have had severe periods of health paranoia since I was a child. And I had a parasite period as well and it was awful. I a,so didn’t know about this theory of morgellin fibers, idk if I would’ve have believed it, but I could’ve. I was convinced it was just a parasite at the time not a sentient being like that. Which that would be even worse experience if I did.

I haven't heard of these theories, but I'm also not going to look into these theories😅 I've had bouts of self-picking, more so to dig out "infections" or acne, or just to make the bump smooth. I never think it's like, some weird conspiracy, I just feel like the bump is bad and Iwant it to be smooooth. And of course "don't pick it and it will go away" is far easier said than done. But I'm trying to get better, and I've gotten loads better since I was a teen.

Last i knew she thought she had worms or fibers under her skin and thought we lived under a dome and was generally in and out of jail for different shenanigans. I remember when we were in contact, she would uh- do awful things to herself to remove them. I agree the lady in this video should get help, drug induced paranoia or not, it would be beneficial for her and all in her life.

The reason the fibers move is because they are so small the heat from your body is enough to attract it because of the change in air pressure. The tiniest change in air pressure can make these things move around like crazy, because they are practically weightless fibers. You can look at your clothes, choose any tiny fiber (I guarantee there is a bunch especially if you have pets) just pull it away from your clothes a little bit so it's kinda standing a little. And you can recreate everything you've seen in the video. I did it with about 3 different ones on my right arm just before typing this. You can literally take them and put them under a microscope which you can purchase from any hobby lobby or Walmart near you and literally see its just a fiber. It's not sentient it's not spying on you it's just a piece of hair or string that's being affected by air pressure. It's so small and when stood up like an antenna like that someone breathing in another room could make it move. Like how can these people be the same species as those who built the hubble telescope, or flew a satellite out of our solarsystem. Holy shit

My mom was on Aderall for a while and started seeing "worms". She said they were coming out in her stool, her skin etc...She FREAKED OUT when she saw a fiber from a scarf....one I was wearing, on her floor. I went to pick it up so she could see it was a fiber. She SCREAMS!!!!!! "PUT THAT DOWN!!!!!!" I tried to plead with her, "Mom, this is not alive. It's string from my scarf, see?" I showed her my scarf closely. Little did I know she would not believe me. She started pooping in bags and taking them to labs, doctors, hospitals. It was horrible watching so many people look at her like she was insane. Which, she did in fact have a lapse in sanity. She swore they were coming out of her skin so she started trying to cut them out. I'll stop there. Luckily, she is off of all drugs and doesn't want to remember that.

Really interesting to see how Morgellon has morphed over the years! My grandma has this disease. It used to be used for people who have a psychosis where they're convinced they're infested with parasites (not a specific parasite, ALL the parasites which isn't even possible bc they compete), and doctors can't help them (because the parasites aren't real), so people with this psychosis have flocked online and come up with "Morgellon" which is this parasite that's making them sick but no doctor can help. Not sure how this morphed to sentient fibers but thank god my grandma doesn't have social media 💀

Kind of similar, some people think freezing takes the nutrients out of food. But no, it’s the opposite! Foods are frozen at peak freshness/ripeness, versus having food that’s unripe/full of preservatives shipped across the country to prevent them being damaged.

I remember reading an article about Morgellons in Newsweek or Time (or something of that nature) back in 2001-2003. The tone of the article took the people seriously, wondering along with them what strange disease they had. Back then, they weren't considered parasites; people would find the lint or fibers and think that they were 'growing' them somehow, inside themselves, and the fibers were causing them pain.
@AliceWonders22

Morgellan fibers are real and were created by our pos government. My friends daughter has it. It's a horrible life. These are self aware and they build entire networks in the body until they eventually kill the host. They are a parasite. I work in skin care as a master aesthetician and background in dermatology. I have seen these fibers under a scope. They are now found in foods we consume as well as YES fall from the chemtrails in the sky.

I too read about them years back, however, the conspiracy about them being dropped from the sky by the Gov, the fibers being used as a spy tool, and the idea that they are “self-aware”, are all brand new. I have a feeling that the elaborate exaggerations were conjured up by one person n a small group of followers just ran with it. TikTok is a hell of a drug. My mom is experiencing this and while I know it is easy to mock these people, it is very real and traumatizing to them. My mom has begged me to believe her and shown me her evidence, and I have tried suggesting she stop drinking or that she might seek psychiatric help, but she is so deep into it that she won’t consider it for a second. I honestly think I was doing her more harm by suggesting I didn’t believe it. I related to her in that when I started having panic attacks, I genuinely 10000% was convinced I was having brain aneurisms and was going to die, I was so so scared to the point of begging my loved ones to help me or take me to the hospital, but they were all experiencing sanity and obviously told me I was imagining it. That sent me even deeper into panic as I believed I was truly actively dying and everyone around me didn’t care. My dad hung up on me when I begged to go to the ER and my boyfriend at the time told me to chill out. Anyways, I relate to her in that way and have just decided to listen and be there for her, and I think that helped her more than anything. She seems to be doing much better now after several years of pulling them out of her body but I am always worried it will come back.

Researchers were able to identify 115 individuals with self-reported MD within an area of Northern California. Of this population, people reporting MD were more likely to be: female aged in their early to mid 50’s white Study participants also frequently reported experiencing chronic fatigue. Lyme disease spirochete bacteria is present in Morgellons cases. And no it’s not just fuzz stuck on skin, actual fibers come out of the skin. The chemical test hasn’t pinpointed anything we have here as a chemical which is super strange but like I said the bacteria is present. The person does not have to have Lyme disease so it’s still a mystery where it’s coming from. The link is from the findings from the national institutes of health. There’s actually quite a bit of study. It’s progressed pretty far. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure many people think they have it but don’t, BUT there actually are unknown fibers the come out of the actual skin itself. Splices of infected skin shows it grow out like a hair🤷‍♀️

I'm glad you brought this to my attention. I looked into it and there are literally thousands of Monoganong strands all over my house. It's infested and therefore in mindfulness to the safety of my family and my neighbors I am burning my house down tonight.

I really hope she finds help. I think pity and mocking them is sad. I have bipolar and have had mild psychotic symptoms that when I finally am stable - I isolate myself because of how humiliated I am. I left friends because they couldn't stop mocking me for being paranoid when I was manic. Nothing like this, so much milder. I hope she's faking and trolling everyone, but if she is serious then she is suffering. It might be fun to laugh at, but she really would be having a battle with her brain fighting every lucid thought she can have. If she isn't trolling, it just proves how no matter what mental illness you have, people would rather make fun of you then sympathize with how awful it is. The lady putting fruit loops on her face with peanut butter and being an awful mother is way different than someone truly believing a delusion like this and living in fear.

This is what severe paranoia does to a person. Here's how it could move: - wind - her finger touching it - electricity - when she speaks - when she breathes

The idea of Morgellan's has been around for a loooong time. I remember watching TV shows that would profile people that believe in this. They are people who have a mental disorder that causes them to pick at their skin, so they end up with sores all over their legs and arms. They keep scratching at them, so they never heal. Then they think they are pulling these special fibers from inside their skin. The reality is that they are just getting them stuck inside their wounds from their clothing and blankets.

That’s not true though. When you’re going through it you can see these fibers everywhere, even in your blood. I’m telling you, they put something in the drugs.
