Small detour on why to play expert maps on slowmode (preferebly the entire time but noone does that): the speedup mechanic causes the game to skip frames to keep up and make it easier to Deal with the calculations going on behind the screen. These skipped frames basicly cause you to Lose damage which in return causes you to Lose rounds that are consistent, but consistently close so the small amount of damage loss pushes it over the edge and loses the run. edit: important rounds to play on slow for almost All true expert maps: 15, 55, 63, 75, 76, 78, and all the rounds from 90 to 100 except 97. most important rounds are the ddt rounds due to their speed

I don’t notice an effect like this at all. I can do the sanctuary early dart sniper early game and muddy r21 airburst early in fast forward and it works just the same as slowing it down. I think people think this because when they slow down they are less likely to make a dumb mistake and or think they have more control because of what’s going on.

@@Chom_Chom it is a very common thing for people doing guides. Unescaped stated it multiple Times and stated, that He lost rounds more on fast forward than on not fast forward when He tested his strats, even when He didnt have to place stuff and i heard different people talk about the same thing on different independent occasions. there is often even a call to not play specific rounds on fast forward in guides. i also noticed it myself but that could be due to Bias.

just a very niche tip for some expert maps like this one: when microing a tower such as a sniper, if for instance the balloons are on the right side of the map and covered by the snipers menu, you can instead start by clicking a tower on the right side which will open the menu on the left side, then you click the sniper and its menu wont block the path you want to see.

@@potatopobobot4231 hit boxes to click on towers is extremely large so this usually won’t be a problem unless it’s on the very edge of the screen

the placement for my bottom sniper on this map didn't allow me to see the other side unfortunately. normally that works 100 tho!

You can click towers that would be hidden by the menu if you have godlike speed to click the one on the opposite side while the menu is opening. Or just do it on mobile and get it super easily

Another thing about the randomness. When you use snipers in challenge editor and you restart a round, the snipers will all fire their first shot at the veeery beginning of the round (or as soon as a bloon spawns). Whereas during a black border run, the sniper will have to wait for the remaining of its reload time before the next shot fires. Makes a noticeable difference in some situations.

For that exact reason I wrote a bot that will place monkeys at the coordinates I give it and upgrade them the way I want, I don't want to redo the same work because of rng.

I know the black border series has brung in many, many views. I will say however, I appreciate you figuring things out "on the fly" more than any other metric. My favorite video was chutes cause, yes, you failed a bunch... But it showed your thought process and problem solving to accomplish the goal. Instead of knowing how to do it before hand

that is one of my favorite parts about the BB series as well. These harder maps tho, if I didn't practice ahead of time I risk sitting there for several hours or possibly never even beating it.

tab and ctrl tab cycle between the targetting options. tab goes +1 ctrl tab -1 so you can micro snipers faster for example. the hotkeys for monkeys are ordered Q W E R T Y are just basic monkeys etc and they are all in just the order they are listed. helps u remember also just testing the keys sometimes helps to remember them also

lol I had that as my hotkeys before I changed the tap from x to tab because I wanted to change them for a faster upgrades so now I have them ctrl tab and shift tab

Quick tip, when using maim moab you almost always want to use the middle path, since the shrapnel also stuns moabs, so it ends up stalling them more than the bottom crosspath

It still got you over the edge this run but 2-3-0 spike factory is way better for bads than the 3-2-0, the 3-2-0 is better for cerams

Any map that winning comes down to pixel perfect placement, precise ability timing, placing towers within 1-2 seconds (accurately)... ...AND then it all comes down to dumb luck anyway? It's the pixel perfect placements or micro this tower on first for the first 20 bloons, then set to strong or else you just lose that do it for me. I've been trying the exact same opening 4/5 towers you do with similar results just randomly failing.

ngl complaining about expert maps being "too hard" when they're expert maps for a reason is annoying asf. if there weren't any maps that were difficult for some of the best players in the game that would be so underwhelming.

In my opinion, there is a difference between something being difficult based on skill and difficult being based on randomness. If you were to be playing an expert chess player for example, their movements would not be random but with these expert maps you can lose because the druid placed a vine in the wrong spot or the alch didn't buff your tower at the right time which you do not have control over.

@@Dabloon that’s a pretty fair point. the alc buff is definitely not something you can do anything about. i’d probably argue the druid point a little bit but fair enough. my point mostly just comes from that if something isn’t working, it’s usually because you haven’t found a better way. maybe NK didn’t make these maps hard in the right way but there still has to be a level of difficulty that even extremely experienced players such as yourself struggle with.
