This Tool Saved Me More Than $400

Our bathroom is ready for tiling and we need a large format tile cutter. It is really expensive so I decided to make this tool in my workshop. What came of it? Watch the video.

Putting a shallow wedge under the length of the cutting line gives a just as clean, but easier break. Dipping the cutter in petroleum helps as well. Well built tool!👍

I have cut extremely narrow pieces of window glass by scoring both the top and bottom faces, and then snapping the piece off over an edge of plywood.

Good idea, but this will not work with tile because of it has too humped undersurface

A simple glasscutter would have done the trick of cutting your large format tiles. It's only necessary to score the toplayer. I've done this a couple of years at my bathroom and it worked perfectly.

As I know, glass cutters have a small cutting wheel, and this most likely will not work with my grooved tiles. But it's good idea, thanks 👍

​@@GRINwoodYou can get a chunk of tungsten carbide from a machine shop and score the tile with that.

Сам не вірив, але працює, навіть різи рівні виходять, потрібно лиш додати більше тиску на колесо та змазати чимось поверхню плитки і ламається без проблем. Але так, спочатку я був вкрай розчарований. Дякую, що дивитесь 👍

Я, як колись різав скло, то ставив склоріз в баночку на дні якої була кухонна губка просочена гасом. Так той керосин доволі масний. Дуже добре змащує ролик. Спробуйте

I have seen, in one of your vieos, that you used a really watery looking glue on the wood that seemed to bond quickly like super glue. However i am pretty sure it was not ca type glue. can you tell me what it was and if it is available in my area. i live in north idaho, usa. when i was young i used a really runny looking glue on balsa wood, building a model airplane. it bonded almost instantly but i am almost positive it was not a ca based glue. can you help me?

Я бы такую направляющую для "болгарки" сделал бы. Мне кажется, гораздо эффективнее получилось бы - меньше шансов на брак

как по мне, болгарку нужно использовать если нет возможности резать от края до края, от нее слишком много пыли

@@GRINwood согласен, пыли и осколков много, керамогранит не один раз пилил, но что нравится - плитка переламывается всегда по срезу. Как я понимаю в процессе раскроя плиток - неважно каких - стеновых, напольных - сбить глазурь на лицевой поверхности

Du kannst stolz auf dich sein. Verkäufer bei Amazon zu betrügen ist schon eine Leistung. Da kann man sich schon was drauf einbilden. Aber sein wir doch mal ehrlich. Ein Held der so drauf ist wie du der verlegt doch die Fliesen nicht selber. Der bezahlt einfach den Fliesenleger nicht und verklagt ihn dann noch wegen seelischer Grausamkeit 🤮
