This "Zafer Yildiz" is mostly a scammer. He has at least 10 different channels on youtube under different names. I can tell by looking at his hands; in all of the videos, they are the same hands. Most of his DIY projects are pure junk, many can damage cell phones: his "antennas" are dog shit. I've complained to KZbin, but they haven't done anything

Add: you can use it the same for LED's, every color has it's own forward voltage, 1.6 - 3.5V. Edit: add a small diode in the circuit so the LED won't be damaged when connected in reverse.

But if you put 32 volts through a LED, that LED is no more. It will cease to be. It will become an EX LED.

@@moonglow9251 You see these two resistors of 1KΩ ( = 2KΩ ) in series with the connectors ? These will limit the current. The max. current will be (32V - 1.6V)/2000 = 0,015A (=15mA). Any 3 and 5mm LED can handle 20mA max. But you still have a very valid point: in reverse a LED can handle max. 5Volt, so DO NOT switch polarity. It would then be a good idea to also use an extra diode (1n4148 or so) in the circuit.

@@walterlyzohub8112 A bridge rectifier would make that you can switch the polarity of the power supply without consequences, and so the positive side of the LED or zener connection would always be the positive side. You would loose 2x0.6V = 1.2V of input voltage, so the highest voltage would suffer a bit.

If you set you multimeter to diode test some will test leds

The value/voltage is printed on the diode itself. Its just a simple number as 3, 6, 12, 15 and so on.

I agree with comment about explanation, but you did pretty well at not needing to explain in multiple languages. As a suggestion, either tape them to a note card or put in an envelope or bag with the value marked. Of course, it’s wise to keep this around to test before putting into a circuit. Great job!

Всё было так просто, но и тут лишние сложности. Достаточно 1 резистора вместо 2, и для такой сортировки раз в год можно вручную взять резистор и держа в руках прикладывать диоды, а не городить всякий хлам. Да и вообще странно, если ваш мультиметр не может измерять падение напряжения на диодах.

Коллега, можно проще и быстрее: мультиметр через балластный резистор - к источнику , а штеккера у гнезд мультиметра чуть оголяешь, к ним подтыкаешь стабилитрон и снимаешь напряжение

Cool! But could not be better to set a higher value for the resistors? Otherwise, zeners under test could face high currents. Besides, if they are connected in series, why place 2 resistors instead of just one? Take care!

I think he just want make the jig look nice. Still 2k ohm on the circuit and put on 30v. So only 15ma go through the test zener, should be good enough for safety. plus only test in a short time 😄

I have done this same thing with no soldering required and just a single resistor using just the alligator clips to hold things together. Why would most people ever need this when after more than 40 years of building electronic devices I have not need to do this more than 3 times?

Подобный способ испытания стабилитронов не нов, до недавнего времени я примерно так их и проверял. Не совсем понятно зачем нужны именно ДВА резистора - вполне хватило бы и одного. Но 95% населения из "каждого дома" просто не поймут о чём речь (хоть речи тут и нет ни слова, одни непонятные для большинства тычки пальцем в что-то тоже непонятное), что это вообще такое и зачем оно в каждом их доме?
