I had the pleasure years ago to see her perform. It was at a small venue and she was accompanied by a piano. She sounded just as good as her recordings. Even got the chance to meet her afterwards. I was lucky enough to be growing up in the 80s with all the incredible hits she had. I could not believe her voice! She does not hold back at all!! The bass guitar parts and drums are unbelievably good as well. Her Songs are Timeless and will never be outdated which is very rare. ❤️❤️

In the early 80's Anita Baker and Sade ruled the charts ! If you want to throw in a couple more I would add Whitney Houston and George Michaels ! I have 700 Cd's in my collection , If I was forced to pick my top 10 favorite and give the rest away , Anita Baker's Rapture album would be in that top 10 !! I played that album until there were no more grooves left in it !

You can’t go wrong with Anita Baker.,,jazzy, lilting contralto. However, i can think of a number of songs that showcase her abilities more than this particular song. There is a concert of her’s, 1985, A Night of Rapture (she has a white dress on). There are several during this concert that are absolutely mind-blowing.
