As of January 1st of this year, Branson Tractors are no longer a brand. The parent company, Kukje, a south Korean tractor company, was purchased by TYM, another company based there. The two product lines are now merged together, the dealer organizations have been combined, and everything from now on will be sold under the TYM brand.
TYM stands for Tong Yang Moolsan, and with the Kukje acquisition, the company becomes the largest South Korean-based tractor company. They purchased Kukje primarily for their diesel engine manufacturing capabilities, but also enhanced their distribution with the Branson tractor in North America, by gaining access to their dealer network. Branson dealers were converted to TYM where possible, anywhere there were conflicts, the strongest dealer got the franchise. TYM dealers will now have access to parts for both brands.
TYM is obviously trying to spread their tractor costs over as many units as it possible, which is the goal of any manufacturer. They currently build tractors for Rural King, and for Bad Boy, as well as a few models for Mahindra. In addition, they've recently signed an agreement to provide some economy tractors for Yanmar dealers. There are a lot of TYM tractors available, under multiple brands.
Other South Korean-based companies trying to gain as much volume as possible are Daedong, who produces their own Kioti branded tractors and also similar models for Bobcat; and LS, who produces small tractors for New Holland and Case.
Trying to keep track of which companies share products and build for competitors has always been tough, especially on the smaller tractors. It's gotten increasingly complex as more distributors enter the tractor business selling tractors that may already have a footprint in the North American market.

I bought a Branson about 2 years ago. One big selling point was... almost no electronics. I avoided the DEF system by selecting a 25 hp engine in a frame that they put in 25 hp to 40 hp. Local dealer now has TYM and Mahindra... and remaining Branson stock. I've not been gentle with the tractor and it's doing well. 550 hrs. Out-lifts my neighbor's 35 HP New Holland of same frame size. (as close as you can get) If his can't lift it with his loader, most times mine can. I've actully lifted the 2000 lb rated max for the loader. (and a bit more) Branson actually goes back 30 years...

You can "fine tune" your hydraulics, by adjusting your pressure relief! Do this at your own risk as you may exceed your tractors safe capacities, and extra precaution should be taken! On my Woods backhoe I've adjusted the relief all the way, and have broken a lot of pieces on the unit. I'm a good welder and have gusseted all the weak points because I like the extra digging power!!

I bought a badboy 4025 last year. Equivalent to a 2515r branson, I believe. I heard about this about two months ago and have been wondering how this would play out. Badboy had a contract with branson, now aka TYM. I got the tractor knowing it was basically a brason, which is a good machine. So i had no worries and a dealer nearby, as long as they continue that particular frame and engine size into tym, I'm good, I hope. Thing has been a workhorse using loader for sawmill.

Tractor manufacturers/dealers biggest problem, as I see it, is distance from potential customer. I remember when I last purchased, I felt it necessary to purchase a brand that had a dealer relatively close, in case I needed repair. Afterall, there's no sense in purchasing something that large if you have to drive it many miles to get it worked on. In our area, Deere lays claim to having the most extensive network of dealers and thus my decision to purchase from them. I found other brands I liked better, but the distance factor was the overriding factor.

I just bought a Branson/TYM 5835. Here was what sold me on it, even in this moment of limbo. The engine is a Cummins A2300 turbo with a Kukje badge on it. Kukje was a contracted OEM for Cummins, and this particular engine was designed by Cummins and even improved by Kukje. Their improvement I believe was going from sleeved to parent bore cylinders. That means, any engine component will be still be readily available, and probably cheaper from Cummins. As for the rest of the tractor, it has external rear lift cylinders that can be removed and serviced by pulling 2 pins. No need to open the case. Mechanical fuel injection-think 12 valve Cummins. DPF is supplemental and is controlled by a module that is not connected to the engine. You could straight pipe it, unplug the module and the tractor wouldn’t know the difference. This thing is quiet and smooth-nothing like the Mahindra I test drove. The number one reason I went with it was the dealer. He was the only one who would communicate, send quotes, text me back and forth etc. I told him when I bought it that he wasn’t allowed to go out of business for at least 6 years or 3,000 hours.

I own a Branson 3520h and is a great tractor. I verified with dealer that if I were to trade my branson for a tym that my backhoe (bh200) will still work with the TYM. This was one of many reasons I bought a branson because the backhoe runs all along the frame and pins together on the front frame of the tractor giving a very strong connection and the fact that Branson lifts more, no electronics, cast iron heavy duty parts instead of aluminum parts.
@rp1645

Fix it Dad YES the FRAME strength. I ran CASE backhoe all my Life, the Backhoe I bought for a Resonation and my personal home tool was a DYNAHOE-190, why you ask, if I ran CASE 580 models from (CK) to last one, that I was part of purchase with the utility I worked for a 580-K. Because like you pointed out the Backhoe end on Dynahoe being part of Mainframe. The standard Dynahoe-190 will dig down (19) feet. A Case (580) needs a extendahoe to do that deep. The Dynahoe quit production in the Mid 1980s when BUCYRUS-ERIE STOPPED making construction type of heavy equipment, just stuck with BIG mining. Now CAT owns (B.E.) have owned my Dynahoe sense 2003. Have put 100s of hours on her, other than Hydraulic cylinder Leaking no issues. The (353 Detroit Diesel) keeps purring along. When I bought her, the brakes were (OS) one rear stabilizer cylinder would Not lift. The two front Bucket Lift cylinders Leaked like a open artery. So my wife wrote up SALES contract around those repair costs, the Backhoe with everything wrong had 0 value to just sell. The COST to repair was more than the cost for us buying. The previous Owner was desperate to sell her. He was Not to happy when we told him (showed him repair Records) but he had signed on to my wife's great sale contract. Like I said there have been more seals that started Leaking. The dipping cylinder was a boom truck job to get OFF. Anyway my Dynahoe has been discontinued for many years, all I'm saying is subcompact Tractor owners should NOT worry about brands being taken OVER, just like video guy said. Look at Case and (N.H.) It is NOW part of (FPT) because they make the ENGINE for those construction brand tractors.

The Kukje engine is the #1 reason I bought my TYM 574 over a rebranded name like RK or other brands with common rail fuel systems. I can't believe Bobcat wasn't there. I know it cost a lot of money and I guess it's hard to see direct sales from shows, I think to be considered a serious player in the Ag market you have to be there. The JD dealer arrangement is probably a good thing for everybody, as long as the dealer puts on a good show. They can split the cost, the dealer can make sales, and the buyer can deal directly with people at the show. Only thing I can see it it may would cause strife between dealers if more than one wants to do the show, and the dealer running the show could be seen as stealing customers from other dealers, unless JD has gotten like Cat and doesn't let dealers step on other dealer's territory.

Mike growing up in the tractor world one thing I learned at a young age. BUY BRAND NAME. All these people buying these fly by night brands will regret saving their $300 in 30 years when they cant find parts. I grew up green and switched to orange. John Deer and Kubota will always have parts for their tractors and normally in great numbers. Yes they are a little more expensive to purchase but they wont sit in a field for 40 years waiting to find a main hydraulic pump.

You are 1000% correct. I was always told by the older people in my life to always purchase quality brand-name equipment. Anything from chainsaws (Stihl for me) to tractors (Kubota for me) was to be purchased and maintained well. I’m trying to figure out how to get parts for a Massey 375. It’s a 1987 model that set outside too long and the electronic dashboard is not working. AgCo and dealership says that parts are not available. Any ideas what I can do to put gauges back on this tractor? We got it running and it will be a good tractor again

Amazon or E-Bay motors will probably be the next big tractor company. Parts availability is second to none. Just got a fuel pump for a 94 Dakota in three days, and they don't even make Dodges. Just my opinion 😀

@@tcmits3699 Of course the dealer couldn't get a part for a vehicle that's nearly 30 years old. I didn't say get it from a dealer. My point is that most eBay and Amazon parts like that are pure garbage. Buy parts from a real auto parts store. Yes, they're more expensive but, you won't have to replace them either and, if something goes wrong, take it back directly rather than waiting weeks for an exchange...if you even get one. Again, just my EXPERIENCE.

I bought a 3510 Branson Tractor in 2004 to develop some property we owned. And because I so impressed what a compact tractor could do, I decided to become a Branson Tractor dealer after I was laid off from my job. I had the dealership from 2005 to 2009 until Obama's financial programs killed off my small business customer base. I had already reached my goal in 2008 of a million dollars in gross sales but didn't sell another tractor in 2009 and went bankrupt. Sour Grapes, yes. My point is, each of the tractors I sold had a Cummins diesel in it and a loader with a full subframe that could attach to the Branson backhoe's subframe. Their backhoe was not a dangerous 3-point backhoe but a full subframe backhoe. Very stout and sturdy unit. None of my well-known competitors had full subframes. Their sales were higher because they had better advertising and we had the way better 4-year warranty. You didn't mention any of those things: better warranty, loader and backhoe subframes, the Cummins diesel engines, and of course, the lower price.

I have a 2017 kioti ck3510 with about 500 hours on it. I have used it hard but maintain it properly. I've had a few issues with it but I'm super happy with it overall. Kioti backed it both times without question when I had warranty repairs done. It's a great tractor in my opinion.

I pull rocks, ditch, grade a d do all sorts of gravel road work with it. I'm happy with my tractor. I do maintain it religiously and probably over grease it but grease is cheap compared to bushings. Robert, that's a great question. It's pretty easy to get specs on the different tractors by visiting tractordata.com, but I'm not aware of a "Consumer Reports" type of rating service for tractors. That might be something I'd tackle if I was 20 years younger, that would be a very handy resource.›

No surprise as the global recession gets worse. Sold TYM and Kioti here in NW Montana for a couple years. TYM was always the winner on price point for those who didn't want to spend more for a Kioti. Good tractors, just not quite as 'built' and refined when compared to a Kioti. Be interesting to see who merges/consolidates next.

I have a Branson 2610h 2020. It 873 hrs on it. With the big lift capacity. I had to replace the front bearings 5 times.spindel seals twice. The bearings are too small and can't handle the weight of the lift capacity. At$245.00 a side. Right now I'm waiting for the new radiator and fan.this will be the third radiator/fan. The mounting plate for the radiator is made out of old soup cans. $800.00 for the radiator. The loader pins don't wear out,the loader it self does. All the pin holes are yoked out. Junk Chinese steel. An absolute junk of a tractor!!!!! I wouldn't recommend this tractor to my worst enemy.
