Thank you for a very good interview. It is good to hear someone with a different way of seeing the world than what we are exposed to all day in the mainstream media. I live in Sweden and was very disappointed in the decision to join Nato. We didn't have the opportunity to vote on the issue or even debate the issue. People accepted it because they were afraid, and that fear was built on the medias one sided picture of the world. What I like most about Mr. Oberg is that he formulates an alternative to the philosophy of militarism--which is peacefull co-existence. This is complicated, but worth exploring.

I just love this channel. I wish this kind of discourse could be more mainstream. Really people have little time to learn about the real situation in the world, so if your channels could replace the mainstream news, the people would be better able to decide. The mention of Okinawa instantly brings me to mind an incident that happened when I worked there in 1999 to complete the installation of a subsea fibre optic cable to the USA. On a map my gf and I saw a beach up the west coast that looked good so we drove up there for a couple of hours - only to be turned away at the beach entrance by a gun-toting US soldier. I'm actually doing a job that benefits the USA, and I get turned away from a Japanese beach by an American with a gun. The sheer backwardness of it all blew my mind, and still does.

Yes true but why. As today there were voices of peace in Japan and voices of war. It was a process that started at least around 1904, if I remember right. A conference regarding trade where all parties were present England and France, the dominant powers, forced the decision that Japan and Germany would not get a higher percentage of it as they have wished for. They gave that to US instead. That gave the voices of war in both countries wind in their sail. And in Japan later on there were assassinations of peace minded politiicians. The nail in the coffin was when US sanctioned Japan when it came to oil. War after that was inevitable. One has to look at things as processes. Things does not occur out of the blue.
