I disagree with this. She didn't need money, she wanted money. I'm not victim blaming, but they get by with what they had. She just wanted better life than what they had, which is not wrong in my opinion. She is a good daughter no matter what. Just the word 'need' is not accurate in this situation.

People pity Ruth so much just because she get murdered but I feel like it still somehow her fault. I came from poor familu too but I wouldn't do something for money that obviously would bring shame and negative impact to my family and outsider. Ruth's family can forgive her because at the end of the day, she still is their daughter. But as for outsider like Brian, he literally got nothing but humiliation. But don't get me wrong, he absolutely wrong for murdering her but I feel like it's not right either to downplay how humiliating he feels.

What happened to him was horrible but he committed a murder. He ended a life, there isn’t a excuse to premeditated that, it wasn’t self defense. You can’t excuse some violent crimes over feelings, it makes things murky. If he would’ve done something else to her, would it also be excusable, no. No one is responsible for getting murdered.
