It waant blatant course copying though. The tricks in the level were certainly different. A lot of setups looked similar, but the tasks you had to do to get through were definitely different. Its in a weird spot where yeah, it was a ripoff, when it absolutely could have just been its own level, lol I wouldnt delete it if I was a Nintendo mod.

I see the heart in the end is like the junk code in a program. One of the ways that you can prove a program is copied is looked at the junk code. These are lines in the code that have no programing language (meaning they're not activated), but are often things like dev notes, or easter eggs, or in some cases, intentional junk code specifically there to show that a program was copied. If someone independently made the same program, it would not have that exact junk code.

I think in this case the junk code isn't the heart, but rather the sideways spring at the beginning. You can see in the clear video that the thrown springboard bounces off the wall to hit the sideways spring and end up where it needs to be, because in MM 1 that stuff bounced off walls. In MM2 it doesn't bounce like that, so that spring is completely useless and is only there because the level is copied

i remember some time ago a conversation in the comment section about what is plagiarism in MM2, as Panga played a level heavily inspired by another level. See, the difference on that case and this one is applicability, that level was heavily inspired by another level, but the creator put their own spin and flavor on it, making it its own experience by its own merits. This case 7:40 instead is just clearly a poor copy of a far better level by an actual well known content creator.

A month ago I was doing super expert levels & my 3rd level was an unclear 2024 level that has a off screen mechanism & you can only beat by a glitch by 1 on/off switch at the start & the problem was I’m on 1 life & either I beat the I don’t know how to solve I’m on or skip the level & die. I chose to struggle for 500 seconds hitting an on/off switch for something then 10 seconds left I skipped the level unfortunately I got a kizo level that the sun insta kills you at the start (the unclear level I gotten was called “something went wrong” & you can find it in 0.00% unclear super expert levels in the detail search (if you figure out how to solve it tell me how to beat it with an off screen thwomp in a clown car using a glitch?))

Thwomp in a clown car is one of those randomizer mechanisms, meaning the only way to actually beat that level was to literally just get lucky. There might have been a way to manipulate the rng, which is how the course got uploaded, but...yeah, that would be a run killer in any scenario.

Does somebody know if you can steal first clears, or will you always get it, as long as you're the first one starting to play the level? I can't imagine you do, as some other guy with potential fc would need to get it at a later point, in case the first one starting the level, decides to not continue. At the same time, I also can not imagine, that nobody (by accident or intentionally) sniped it from panga (at least I've never seen it)

You can steel them. Let's say your favorite steamer is doing some uncleared levels, you can punch in the same level code and try to snipe the first clear.

​@@ghoster37 There isn't anything wrong with bringing levels from one game over to another, so long as you credit the original creator. It's not too dissimilar from translation: If someone translated Euler's _Elements of Algebra_ into Russian and claimed it to be his own original work, he would be academically shunned. If he gave proper credit, however, he would be well-respected. It's even worse when the "translation" in this case is far inferior to the original. It's more comparable to the infamous "Ecce Homo" restoration.
