My father just sold ours and I am crying. It was a 1954 1500 tf and was originally bought by the nbc director at the time, it stayed in California for many years before getting so Spain where my dad and I bought it thinking it was a 1250cc version, when we checked with mg themselves they told us that it was a 1500cc version and that the papers were changed for tax reasons, we had everything checked due to some overheating issues and we discovered a tiny fissure in the engine block that was repaired with lasers, all of the other parts remained original .The car had only 35.000km on the clock , the paint was only polished but otherwise untouched, we decided to sell it to a Greek business man in Frankfurt who has a huge collection ( he has bought a lot of cars from us) ,it is now being transported there with a few other cars we sold to him, I’m very sad for loosing it but I hope it gets driven regularly and with respect

A 1954 1500 TF would be as rare as a cross between a zebra and a unicorn. I call BS.

Such beauty. I looove these old cars. I had a love relationship with a 59 MGA Coupé in the early 70s. I saw a gem of a MGT last summer. My jaw dropped down to my knees. Memories and Dreams are a necessity. Maybe one day I can afford a new romance with an old model MG 🥰🥰🥰

There is a very different idea of what is vintage in USA. In UK Vintage is only between the dates 1919 and 1930. After that date cars are considered Classic when they are over 45 years old only.

Beautiful car! (And the scenery is lovely as well.)

Gorgeous! The TD is still a practical vehicle, so I imagine the TF is as well, especially one in this sort of condition. About the only feature lagging modern standards is the drum brake system. If you know how to anticipate speed changes and keep the revs right for engine braking, fade shouldn't be a problem. Just don't expect them to work as well after a series of rapid stops from high speed.

Not the original steering wheel!

Owned an MG TF 1500 while a student in college and literally ran it into the ground in 1963. Plain and simple - no money for repairs! No question in my mind the steering wheel is definitely not original to the car and curious as to why no views under the engine bonnet!.

Great car... possibly the most annoying commentary delivery I've ever heard.

unless you're driving around with a sign on the back with something like, "This is an original old car, it looks old and ratty, but i paid a lot for it", nobody knows or cares. you're only impressing your peer group. you know... those few and old ratty cheap friends of yours with the same compulsion. ...now if it was a ferrari, maybe things would be different. but probably not.
