The unwritten language of Hawaii is spoken through the mana of the story. It's a talk story from heart to heart vs the ha-ole style of mouth to ear.

Mahalo Aunty Pua for this lovely introduction to your book. It brings me back to Big Island and Volcano Natl. Park where I have spent many happy days.

This is my teacher (1988-89, University of Hawaii, Hilo). I didn't learn the language, but I learned enough to know that this is a very powerful chant and I'm so grateful to God that He allowed her to be a part of my life. This is just a sample of her Magnificence

Aunty Pua is truly one of the most authentic Hawaiians I have ever met. She holds fast to her old tradition, it is here life, but she lives in the modern world and is able to include all with a thirst for knowledge. Her gentleness was extended to me a non Hawaiian. And I feel she is truly a great spirit. Mahalo Anutie for this beautiful expression.

This voice has such an ancient tone and emotion to it, that it transports you to view the images that her voice is creating. Not only can one hear the story, one must also feel in the tones that she employs to tell her story. I am ever thankful for this post. Thank You
