My Stage 1 tuned Mk7.5 Golf R hits 60 in 3.7s, that's just a remap (putting out 380bhp) and handling improvement. Next job will be downpipe, intake and exhaust (going for a resonated sports exhaust, good amount of breathing but keep the noise down). Exactly as you said, I'm keeping the exterior stock. It is about 15mm lower with the new springs, but that's only noticeable if you know to look for it. I've already embarrassed some very expensive cars... it's great fun. Good review dude. at 2:42 the comment about the rubbery shift feel - easily rectified with the Integrated Engineering IE Solid Cable Shifter Bracket & Bushing Kit For VW MK7 Golf. The stock bracket is made of plastic and has rubber bushing. The IE version uses a stamped steel bracket with fully machined aluminum bushings. This tightens up the shift feel considerably and ensures more accurate shifting (no more shift slop!). Considering it's $99 + installation that is an easy & cheap fix.[edit - plus I just prefer shifting my own gears but that DSG is wicked fast]
@kenphilpot19036 жыл бұрын

Since the engine is rebuilt by hand whp figures wary though it's around the 700whp mark (+-50) & 682 ftlb of torque. In a test of a German auto magazine called "Turbo" that Golf beat a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (dry conditions) & placed itself even to an Aventador (wet conditions)

I'm sure that right after this video the DSG will go in to "Power Sh*t mode" and go boom like Ford on a Swedish road. The "Power Sh*t mode" was so impressiv that the Swedish Police force stopped buying Volkswagens after some of thire cars got stuck in D or R. Too drive a Volkswagen with a DSG is like leting your car meet a tree face to face,or head on, not a good idea if you like your wallet.

Love the review. I’m also in SoCal. I have a MK6 GTI that’s APR Stage 3 but I have Methanol Injection and run the 93 Map. It’s a blast to drive and APR without a doubt makes these cars very fast with their Stage 3 packages.

On the race fuel and meth it'll do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds. However the haldex (Borg Warner as it's now called) the front wheels spin like crazy for a few seconds. Also that R doesn't have DCC as there is no comfort mode.

Warranty is gone- just get a stock Audi RS3... I've ordered the 2018 Golf R and will probably leave it stock.

Big Momma Grits my Audi A6 had in one year repairs that exceeded 30000€ (so roughly 35000$). all was covered by warranty. so yeah, warranty... pffft

Big Momma Grits I don't care about warranties. Then again I'm trying to buy a 1990 VW Jetta right now.

I don't know about APR, but ABT offers you 2 year warranty in All motor parts, exhaust and gearbox. So, in a way, isn't a problem at all.

I like how Becca actually loves him... she's interested in what he says, and looks at him the whole time instead of looking at the road
