It's great to see dad telling his boys what went wrong in the builds and what needs to be done, and then let them fix it themselves. That makes for a great learning experience. And I love the boys took it as such, and not as a possible negative, personal thing. Hats off to all three of you: Matt, Kaulin, and Rhett. 🤙

Those kids are so lucky. When I was their age, my 1955 Willys CJ5 was my daily driver and my offroad adventure machine. Anything I did to it I literally did myself, under the shade tree or in Mom's garage, with tools and parts I bought myself with money from odd jobs, babysitting and made by plowing snow, towing and other work I did with said Jeep. Hand tools only, but I did buy an oxy-acetylene cutting and welding torch set and taught myself how to use it. One winter I turned a bearing. Learning from my "Motors Manual", 3 of my friends helped me pull the F head 4 cylinder engine out. We stripped it down as much as we could, used a couple of 2x4s on our shoulders, a piece of chain to the engine block and lifted with our legs. Then, like a gang of National Geographic pygmy hunters bringing home the wild boar, we marched it to the house and into the basement where it was warm enough to work. 2 days later new crankshaft, rings, bearings, gaskets, valve guides and marched back to the garage, back in and running The next day pushing snow from the overnight storm. Not bad for 16 year old girls. But what I would have given for a warm shop with a lift and power tools!

Matt raised those kids right and its awesome to see modern gen children actually working, He instilled good morals and ethics too. This is exactly how it should be and many parents could learn a lesson from this, Most kids raised today are total wussy's and don't even venture outside let alone know what hard work is plus the reward u get from it. Being a mechanic i try to pass along some of my knowledge/skill but they don't want to even learn these days, most of em sit on a computer/phone all day and just expect everything to be done for them. Its the lazy parents fault mostly that just stuck the kid in front of a screen cause it shut them up so parents could do whatever, I was raised correctly when we used to go outside and be gone till the streetlights came on. Parents had no idea where we were and we could fend for ourselves in many ways, we had way more responsibility back then. Its so cool to see the old school ways alive and well.

Nowadays police get called if a kid ventures more than ten feet from their front door.

The fact that your kids respect you enough to learn from you is telling. Many parents have not fostered that environment and i wouldn't take it for granted if i were you! ❤

LIFTER TICK, my 4.0 sounded just like that. No BS, a treatment of SeaFoam in the oil per the instructions and an oil change solved it for six months of daily driver duty, when it started to tick again. Treated it another time and tick was gone for at least another year, at which point I sold it. I'm fairly certain there's just some gunk in one of the lifters oil passages and the detergents break it down and clear it up. Might give it a shot.

I just love watching you guys. I’m 67 years young. In my younger years I use to be a test driver for GM proving grounds in Mesa Arizona. I recently fractured my shoulder and knee in a fall. I have plenty of time to watch your videos. You keep my so entertained! I love it!
