It's great to see dad telling his boys what went wrong in the builds and what needs to be done, and then let them fix it themselves. That makes for a great learning experience. And I love the boys took it as such, and not as a possible negative, personal thing. Hats off to all three of you: Matt, Kaulin, and Rhett. 🤙

CORRECTION: I have NEVER seen anything on this channel that was boring. It was wonderful to see Kaulen give Rhett that compliment. With brotherly love like that, ain't nothing they can't defeat. It was funny to hear Colby go "Ugh!" every time Kaulen hit something with the Toyota I'm secretly hoping and praying that these "Working In The Shop" videos go to 1 hour. I love hanging out with this crew! Don't worry Colby, if I had my way you'd video EVERYTHING and the videos would be 8 hours long (If I spelled anyone's name wrong, please forgive)

I owned jeeps until I got a Toyota, I would never go back to jeep. Had lots of fun but always something not working or breaking. Could never trust them to get me back home. My FJ has 308,000 miles and still runs great. A jeep might get up a hill but a Toyota will go to the hill, up the hill then home, even if its 3000 miles away.

I totally get when they miss the references from us Olds, but this was the last morr vid I watched through in a while. It's one thing when Matt knows what he's doing, knows what he wants to build, and pretty much nails it. Good job buddy, but there's no joy in that for me as a viewer. This? This is insecure drivers in vehicles with unsure capabilities. Nothing will go 'wrong' with that many capable folks around, but there's good viewing value in the driver not being 100%

Those kids are so lucky. When I was their age, my 1955 Willys CJ5 was my daily driver and my offroad adventure machine. Anything I did to it I literally did myself, under the shade tree or in Mom's garage, with tools and parts I bought myself with money from odd jobs, babysitting and made by plowing snow, towing and other work I did with said Jeep. Hand tools only, but I did buy an oxy-acetylene cutting and welding torch set and taught myself how to use it. One winter I turned a bearing. Learning from my "Motors Manual", 3 of my friends helped me pull the F head 4 cylinder engine out. We stripped it down as much as we could, used a couple of 2x4s on our shoulders, a piece of chain to the engine block and lifted with our legs. Then, like a gang of National Geographic pygmy hunters bringing home the wild boar, we marched it to the house and into the basement where it was warm enough to work. 2 days later new crankshaft, rings, bearings, gaskets, valve guides and marched back to the garage, back in and running The next day pushing snow from the overnight storm. Not bad for 16 year old girls. But what I would have given for a warm shop with a lift and power tools!

Yas should completely cut off the front corners of the Toyota like Trail Mater lol then it'll have plenty of clearance.

You guys are so much fun to watch..! As for the Off-Road Games, I'd love to see Murphy's diesel again with Hellboy and maybe even Black Betty.

Do I hear a wristpin knock in the tangerine? Great fun with the B.O.R.R. group. Fun fact my buddy Steve and I started Bent offroad 17 years ago and Caleb and Ben took it over in 2020 and I'm so glad they did. Great changes adding KZbin

TBF, I've run an 80 series turbo diesel landcruiser on 33" tires as the family bus for 14 years. I haven't had to touch any of the axle internals so far. I have serviced the brakes, but that's it. You need a 54mm box socket to tighten up the front hub nuts to take out play in the (in America) drivers side front wheel bearing, as they can work loose (I get caught on the English MOT every couple of years with that).

Matt raised those kids right and its awesome to see modern gen children actually working, He instilled good morals and ethics too. This is exactly how it should be and many parents could learn a lesson from this, Most kids raised today are total wussy's and don't even venture outside let alone know what hard work is plus the reward u get from it. Being a mechanic i try to pass along some of my knowledge/skill but they don't want to even learn these days, most of em sit on a computer/phone all day and just expect everything to be done for them. Its the lazy parents fault mostly that just stuck the kid in front of a screen cause it shut them up so parents could do whatever, I was raised correctly when we used to go outside and be gone till the streetlights came on. Parents had no idea where we were and we could fend for ourselves in many ways, we had way more responsibility back then. Its so cool to see the old school ways alive and well.

LIFTER TICK, my 4.0 sounded just like that. No BS, a treatment of SeaFoam in the oil per the instructions and an oil change solved it for six months of daily driver duty, when it started to tick again. Treated it another time and tick was gone for at least another year, at which point I sold it. I'm fairly certain there's just some gunk in one of the lifters oil passages and the detergents break it down and clear it up. Might give it a shot.
