We need a midfielder badly because Partey is always injured and there is no one to step in without a huge drop in quality. God forbid Saka gets injured because there is no one else here either. At least in the striking department we have Havertz and Trossard who can perform at a similar level to Jesus.

Got to prove his fitness first. It's tough to come back from such an injury and long lay off. Remember Jesus last season. I expect him to be in and out this season with minor setbacks and niggling injuries. Don't expect to see the best of him until next season ie. 2025/26.

Leverkusen looked like they are still on summer break..... apart from a few bright moments, they looked nothing like the side from last season..... then again, they probably wanted to avoid injuries so close to the start of the season..... so, I wouldn't take too many clues from this one game..... our players need to maintain this mindset throughout the season and we'll be fine

Bringing in a target man will completely change the way that team plays and I actually think will lower the goals.. City have one of those strikers yet he could not score home or away against Arsenal. Did not help them win at villa where they lost. Did not help them win against Madrid in the semi final. There is this myth these top strikers make the difference in big games when in reality it’s a lot more complicated than that. Even if we had haaland we would not have scored as city who were home had haaland and he did not score. Where was haaland those 3 games Rodri was absent and city lost or drew them all. Apparently a gun man makes all the difference. Some games over the season you just lose and it’s naive to think it’s just bc we did not have a #9.
