OMG! "He was probably holding chopsticks the whole time" KILLED me! Yoongi will never get away from those chopsticks now. We will never let him forget them. Ok, I have to mention this. I cannot be silent again. The translation of Supreme Boi's intro at the beginning of Part 2. The song is called BTS Cypher Pt. 2: . Triptych refers to a set of three (since there are 3 rappers in BTS). It is "Supreme Boi on this ", not "Supreme Boi on this track d*ick". T-R-I-P-T-Y-C-H. Triptych. That annoys me every time I see it on the screen. I just had to mention it. And Supreme Boi is a producer for BigHit. He's also a solo artist and was actually a trainee who was a potential candidate for the BTS lineup. Some of the very very very early unofficial releases, before BTS debuted at a group of 7, when everyone was still in training, were songs done by the potential trainees, and Supreme Boi was on some of them. He's very close with the BTS members and has helped produce some of their tracks as well. J-Hope's flows are crazy. Just like how his body can be flowy like water or hard as steel when he dances, his rap rhythm is the same. There are many songs where his flow is never the same twice, or changes multiple times in a single verse. The song 2nd Grade is one of them. Like he calls it in his solo song "Baseline": Rap shaped to the rhythm of my body. "Not just a pretty boy in a boy band." SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE ONES IN THE BACK THAT WEREN'T PAYING ATTENTION. Yes, they're pretty, hella pretty, every damn one of them, but they're also pretty savage when they have good reason to. Suga and his Tongue Technology. It's lethal. Cypher Part 2 is definitely targeting an artist that looked down on them. The line if Suga's part where he says "go back to Hawaii" is because that artist was from Hawaii. So, definitely a direct jab there. I believe the man later went to jail for something, but he is no longer an issue. And as you can see from the lyrics to Part 4, they've mostly moved past things. I believe Suga once said something along the lines of "If you feel targeted by any of our lyrics, that's on you." These Cyphers are all from BTS's earlier days. Part 1 was on their second album, released in 2013, part 2 in 2014, part 3 in 2015, and part 4 in 2016. So over the years you can really see how their rap skills grew. There's nothing wrong with comparing artists with other artists in the sense that you get similar vibes from them. I mean, that's your reference point. I don't get why anyone would hate on that. Like, if one artist is all you know, duh, you're going to compare others to what you already know. Don't worry about refencing other artists. Honestly Triptych is my favorite. I really love Killer and Love Yourself, but something about Triptych gets to me. Although, Part 4 holds a special place to me now after Agust D's concert when he did a medley of his Cypher verses and I finally, FINALLY, got to be a part of a whole live crowd yelling out "I love, I love, I love myself" at the top of our lungs. I never thought I'd get to experience that, but I did, and it was amazing to be a part of 15,000 fans chanting that chorus. Truly breathtaking. I highly recommend watching a live as well. BTS sounds great on studio tracks, but they were BORN to perform live. The version of Part 3: Killer from their Busan concert in Oct 2022 is amazing. And there's a Cypher Medley video as well, where they each do a verse from one of the first 3 and then finish off with part 4. It's super hype. I think you guys would enjoy either of those.

Supreme Boi was a trainee at Big Hit for the BTS project. Suga recently joked that he, Supreme Boi and RM were always came in last on the dance ranking lists in the company. So he didn't make the BTS team (don't know if he pulled out on his own or was cut) but he was still kept on as a producer at Big Hit.

I am a 90s hip hop fan too. Getting into BTS I thought they were just like any other K-pop group that poses like they are rappers. Another reactor put it very well, the BTS rap line are hip hop artists first but just happen to be idols. They are true hip hop artists that have studied the culture and the OGs, not other idol rappers that think hip hop is a fashion choice 🙄 You should watch their live performances, that energy is insane I started taking BTS seriously through the rap line. Now that you have a glimpse of what they’re capable of, enjoy the rest of the journey and treasure hunt. To respond to your statement that the world should know about BTS, I totally agree. BTS is NOT a friend of the music industry so the music industry has been trying really hard to keep them from the general public. Their success did not rely on conventional ways of going through the system and paying off each party as you go, which is why the music industry does not want them at the top. It sends a wrong message to other artists. If u want to learn more about this, I suggest reacting to xceletes video of bts hardships. I'm really enjoying your reaction! I'm not sure whose quote it is but as far as rap styles someone wrote that RM analyzes the world, j-hope visualizes the world and SUGA criticizes the world. There are many other interpretations of their rap styles out there and I'm sure someone will put it in the comments. Their versatility is what makes the rap line so great, awesome and fire! I love each of their styles. I lean more towards RM because he is one of my biases but I grew up listening to rap and hip hop scene in NY from the beginning and RM's style is reminiscent of that. For me, Cypher part 3 is still my favorite. I love RM's flows and it still gives me goosebumps til this day. These cyphers are perfect to watch to see their growth as rappers. You can see them getting better and better. Cypher pt 4 live is my favorite cypher live performance. The one uploaded by "Queen" here on youtube(The one with like 4 million views). Coz in that live, the adlibs they were making andstage presence is top notch. For me, Jhope really shined on that performance.

Part 3 is my favorite!! The live performance at the Busan concert is wild! And they went there…”F*** it I don’t care, you can’t control my shit”. Many felt that was a message to the political, government entities. They performed it Saturday night, then Monday announced they were rescinding their requests for postponement (or waiver?) from military service, saying they will all serve. It was epic! Suga pulled the end of Cypher 4 into his DDay concert, and it was a blast yelling “I love myself”.

It’s almost unfair that BTS has three such utterly vicious talented rapper/producers from the start. Bang PD their boss calls them the three pillars of BTS as they’ve written produced the lions share of the music. They have helped the vocal line learn the craft of music making. Each Cypher is so damn crazy and live they take it up a notch. Cypher 4 is my favorite live.

I’ve listen to these cyphers hundreds of times over the past five years and I still get goosebumps when that beat changes on cypher 2! …Still. And although I wait excitedly every time for Suga to start his section when that rising tension comes right after telling that punk to go home to Hawaii, I have to say my favorite line is and will always be RM calling them an old caterpillar. It slips by a lot reactors and even some army, including me at first. But to me it’s one of the most clever digs I’ve ever heard. Lol!!! If you are an old caterpillar, you are going nowhere, you are stuck in the same spot, same life, unable to evolve. You’ve missed your chance. There’s only a small period of time that caterpillars exist, before cocooning themselves then evolving to become a butterfly. People who love what they do, and are passionate about what they do, never stop learning, constantly evolving as they interact with things around them, hearing new things, trying new things. Supreme Boi used to be a trainee with BTS and now he makes music w them sometimes 💜 Love the Cyphers…the haters were crazy back then. RM aka..Namjoon was an underground rapper known as Runch Randa. Suga aka...was an underground rapper known as Glos. Jhope aka Hobi was a member of a street dance crew. Old ARMY have mixed fillings concerning Supreme Boi. BTS was originally going to be a hip-hop group with just rappers. Supreme Boi was one of the members. When Hitman Bang decided to form them into an idol group Supreme Boi backed out but stayed at Big Hit as a writer/producer. He said some questionable things about BTS afterwards that cause the hate towards him. But the guys seem to take it all in stride, so alls good as long as they approve. The cyphers were a call out to all of their haters. One in particular was a "rapper" called B-Free. Said RM and Suga weren't real rappers because they wore make-up and were idols. He later apologized but ARMY didn't buy it. So then he doubled down and accused them of copying Kanye West style among other things and saying he would slapp the guys if he saw them on the street. He has had an OK career and is more known for starting beef with other rappers and assault than his music. Finally DDaeng by BTS is consider to be the unofficial 5th Cypher. Please continue to enjoy their music and pplay close attention to their amazing lyrics.a lack luster

Early cypher they just mad.angry.frustrated. But they put aside this kind of cypher series right before they entered love yourself concept.
