BTS began in 2013, so there is a massive back catalogue of music of about 500 songs. BTS started as a hip hop group, but now cover many genres of music, including rap, pop, latin pop, edm, hip hop and much more. The lyrics are very meaningful and they write, compose and produce their own music and write about social issues like mental health, social anxiety, societal expectations on young people and self love. BTS really forge their own path now and very much have control of their destinies and music, having been around for 11 years and also being men in their late 20s and early 30s. They have won about 1,000 awards to date also. The group is made up of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists, all extremely talented and experienced. They are amazing dancers also and are known for their complex choreography and show stopping live performances. BTS have global fandom, called Army, with approximately 100 million people of all ages as fans, ranging from 20s to 70s ages. They are far from what most people assume as the stereotype pop fandoms, not all only young people. Their lyrics, MVs and music are written about more in depth topics and not like groups who just sing about love. If a BTS song is about love, it is usually multi layered and more focused on love of self and complexity of relationship with yourself. Of course, it can be taken as romantic love also if that is what the listener prefers, but it is not the main intention of the song. Some MV's to start: Black Swan, Fake Love, Idol, DNA, On Kinetic Manifesto, Dope, Fire, Not Today, Airplane pt 2, Save Me. Live performances to start: Festa 2021, Tiny Desk, MMA 2018 and 2019. Rap line songs to start: Ugh, Outro Series, Cypher series, Born Singer, Baepsae (Silver Spoon). Vocal Line songs: House of Cards, The Truth Untold. To learn more about their backgrounds and a bit of their personalities, it is really worth watching an introduction video. The Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mairi has the best summary and snapshot into them as a group and individuals, in my opinion. There is also a shorter video 'A Guide to BTS (for haters, skeptics and non-pop fans)' from Boracity, which is a good overview.

Loved the reaction. You got it! Suga's parents were against him rapping but he was an underground rapper and a composer from 13 years old. Actually they all sing, rap, dance,play instruments, compose and produce. Suga wanted to be a rapper and producer and didn't want to dance. In this video Suga is the second rapper after J-Hope. When the group started RM the Leader was the first in, then Suga and J-Hope (The official Rap line ) as it was going to a hip hop group but that all changed. Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook are the vocalists. Jin being the eldest and Jungkook the youngest. All born between 1992 and 1997. These guys are super talented, hard working and humble. They will make you cry and laugh. They truly love their fans known as Army and Army are fiercely protective of them due to a lot of hate and discrimination shown to them that is totally unwarranted. As this song reflect a lot lf it is jealousy or as us Aussies say "tall poppy syndrome" meaning why are you so successful and I'm not so let's tear you down. Their song Dope is sbout how they worked and practiced hard for hours barely sleeping whilst those criticising where out clubbing or barely working. They sing about mental health, societal expectations, loving yourself and everything really. They do not have a set genre. Currently they are completing their mandatory military service. Jin and J-Hope have finished and the others finish in June. All have solo releases Welcome to the rabbit hole. I guarantee you will be amazed by them.💜

Happy for you that you have discovered BTS, the best group in the world! They originated as a hip hop group, hence the 3 rappers, but now can perform any genre of music. To hear their grounding listen to their early song Hip Hop Lover. Debuted in 2013, 3 rappers, 4 vocalists, all great performers, dancers, comedians and all round nice people. They have won more awards than any other group on record and have a simply enormous back catalogue. They have the most loyal fanbase called the BTS ARMY, or just Army.

Welcome, Alice! Ready to follow the White Rabbit? BTS and it's 7 members are amazingly talented as a group and solo. Their music covers so many genres and styles. Their lyrics are impactful and poignant. The BTS famdom called ARMY 💜 is massive and worldwide. Please watch the short but very enlightening BORACITY GUIDE TO BTS FOR HATERS SCEPTICS AND NON KPOP FANS. It will prevent so many misconceptions. Give us an idea of which genres of BTS music to reccomend so you enjoy them. Then maybe you could watch Taylors Guide after you have those songs under your belt. She is the only one actually seems to show you how BTS made the impossible possible. Complete industry outsiders, who did not obey the industry rules. Made it into the biggest group in the world from a miniscule company on the brink of bankruptcy to BTS selling out arenas in minutes. The company now a multi national conglomorate. Because Taylor let's you understand the people behind it and why they are different. BIRACITY is a great introduction though.

Dude, BTS has about 400 songs, maybe more including solo albums. All different genres and styles and all excellent quality. I advise you to start with songs that have views from 2 billion to 1 and then in descending order. In addition, they have a video-film with a plot for almost every song, a separate recording of the choreography for the song (it's fire!!!) and there is always a concert recording made by the BTS company (BigHit). A concert performance always differs from a studio performance in nerve, emotion, drive from singing along and admiration of a stadium of thousands. Such triple listening will give you an indelible impression and us, BTS fans with many years of experience, once again watching our favorite songs of our favorite artists with you.

Bts are the biggest group globally not just in K-pop it's actually a debate if they are K-pop or not. They are based in Rap and R&B but use whatever music genre they like and mix them as they see fit. They are group that are in the main Musicians. They are song writers, composers and one an award winning Producer. They 3 Rappers all come from the underground Hip Hop scene 2 as Rappers the other as a Street Dancer and he's their Dance Leader as well as being one of the 3 Rappers mind you all 7 can and do dance and all 7 sing as well. Each member has different tastes in music genres yet they also have genres in common. They all solo artists that don't want to be in the group together.

That's their Leader/Spokesperson Namjoon Kim better know as RM the group was built around him he was the first member taken on as he already had a name for himself as a Rapper. He's also one of the 2 members that pays the saxphone. He's a polygot eg speaks 3 languages has an extremely high IQ of 148. He has the Kpop Artist with the most credits with the South Korean Copyright Association under his real name and his stage name. He also writes for other artists. The Second Rapper Suga (aka Agust D) is an Award Winning Producer for other artists.

Because they came from a tiny almost bankrupt Kpop Company and because the Rappers were underground Rappers they got a lot of hate from other artists, they were looked down upon, shunned, badly treated not by their company but others and even when they were picking up awards they weren't given a dressing room to get ready in they got dressed and did their make up outside the toilets while others laughed at them. They were the complete underdogs and were accused of all sorts of things like buying back their own albums eg accused of cheating the company went to court to prove their innocence showing they didn't have money to buy albums they had nothing. The company at one point told them to go home because the company didn't have the money to pay the rent on their tiny 1 bedroom flat where all seven members lived. It's a real rages to riches story and good gawd the hate and attacks don't stop even now over 10years later because now they are the biggest not on within the Kpop Industry but the Biggest Global Group. The most awards artists in the History of Modern music. They smash every record.
