I think a reason why most of the fandom thought this was 1D’s song was because most of them are really young. I’m 23 and I heard this song way before 1D even formed so I immediately knew that this was a cover

Why so shocked? It's a cover. Artists do covers all the time. *lol* So yes. It's originally Blondie's song. Though 1D's version is a mash up with another song too, Teenage Kicks but I don't know that one and it seems it's only a line. I love this music video and what they did for the charity. They filmed it during their second world tour so that's why they are in Tokyo, London and New York, as well as Ghana of course. They visited Ghana in 2012 for the Comic Relief Charity. I don't remember the figures but they drew in a lot of money. It's probably also why the British Prime Minister of that time was in the video as well. (Outside the number 10 door) OMG The girl! Oh, that's so funny. Sorry. Um. Louis and Liam are holding her up that's why she looks so tall. :D

Comic Relief is also called Red Nose Day in U.K. it’s a charity event on tv and across the country and a group or singer always releases a charity single to raise funds. Until recently British celebs were sent to African countries to show people here what they were raising money for but that has been scrapped now.
