Yo y’all I wanted to bring up some criticism on our part as far as the reaction. After watching I noticed we did NOT BRING UP THE MUSIC!! In the uncut version I mentioned it briefly but did not put any emphasis on it during the reaction or discussion. But trust me I’m pretty sure in our heads at that moment we were thinking“these vocals with this scene is top tier” of course along with the instrumentation as well. But I wanted to mention that I think the music is what made that episode so epic along with Jinwoo saying “I’ve been leveling up this whole/entire time” 😭🔥🔥 yeah. I been listening to the soundtrack nonstop at work and just wanted to share that with y’all- Rise

The jump from A rank to S rank is massive. Remember jinwoo is around High C to low B at the moment. With that being said these other high ranking people are monsters. Jinwoo can't even scratch them right now atm

No spoilers needed to tell you why he got that full recovery mid fight. Remember earlier in the episode Jinwoo put off his daily quest for later in the day. On the screen he just had to do the 10Km run to finish his quest. So basically, mans ran around the spider so fast he finished his quest and full recovered. Mix between skill and luck for that fight.

Excellent REVIEW! I've watched several other reviews and most folks don't seem to get what's going on in this episode. First off, just to clear up the confusion and many other reviewers missed this as well, "Where did the Full Recovery come from that Jinwoo had to escape death from the spider? Go back to Episode 5, when Jinwoo was doing his daily strength quest just before he left for the dungeon, he had completed everything but the 10K run, which he completed on the way to meet with the strike team. When he arrived the Message Board popped up and informed him of his rewards for completing the Strength Question, of which the 1st reward possibility was "Full Recovery", but Jinwoo didn't have time to make a choice because the Strike Team leader was approaching him, so he stored it away, and good thing he did! When the Strike Team left Jinwoo and Jinho in dungeon to die after sealing them in, they became the DUNGEON BOSS! Normally when the boss is beaten the Dungeon becomes unstable, which we know because the Strike Team explained this as they exited the dungeon while waiting for the spider to kill and eat Jinwoo and Jinho. We also see that when Jinwoo kills the Spider the dungeon is still stable, indicating the Spider was no longer the boss! We also learn that this strike team had done this kind of deal where they sacrifice 2 folks when exploring dungeons many times before, so much so that the other female hunters were discussing it at lunch. So many other hunters had fallen victim to these murderers making up the strike team. The fact that the strike team first tried to seal both of them in the boss chamber to die, then tried to get Jinho to kill Jinwoo, who if he had, would have likely still killed Jinho to take his armor, then last but not least they TOLD Jinwoo and Jinho they planed on killing them! So these murderers became the Final Boss of this dungeon and the System made killing them Jinwoo's Quest or HE WOULD DIE, "Your heart will stop." makes it clear what 'Defeating' them meant. Knocking them out and tying them up wouldn't work in this case. We know this because when Jinwoo and the leader of the team fought he had definitely defeated him, as he slammed him into the ground, but the System did NOT count him as defeated UNTIL Jinwoo killed him. It sucks that Jinwoo had to kill them, but the Strike Team deserved it, Defending one's life or killing in war is far different from MURDER, as someone is trying to take away your Right to live, when YOU did nothing to warrant the person(s) trying to kill you actions. I think the "Murderous Intent" was Jinwoo's ability to do what the request required without hesitation. 5 of the 6 killed inside of 10 seconds or so, no hesitation from doing what he HAD TO DO! Yes, it is tough watching folks get what they deserved sometimes, but Solo Leveling seems to try to weave a little realism into their story telling! Great catch with Jinwoo on the poster standing on the bodies; and Great Catch that the last guy show at the end being the Brother that the team leader was talking about; and GREAT catch by the young lady, that realized that this strike team had killed MANY OTHER hunters just like they were trying to kill Jinwoo and Jinho! EXCELLENT attention to the details guys!!! Many other reactors MISSED that las point completely! Keep up the good work! I too hate cliff hangers! LOL!

I feel like Rise is one of the few reactors that noticed Jinwoo was processing the murders at the end. I felt sad watching him kill because I could feel his sadness that it had come to that. I have read the Manhwa but seeing it animated made it more real

It's awesome to see y’all start hooking into the "business" of hunting. It's a trope in a lot of these ranking/dungeon type stories that guilds and corps are basically exploiting these locations to get resources that don't exist on earth. Just know that pretty much every side character they give time to in the show will come back up in later storylines, the women in the café for instance. The more time they give to other side characters the more important they will be. The spider boss is a C rank boss, called a C rank boss because the monster is the boss of a C rank gate but its strength is equivalent to a B rank hunter. For example, if the boss of a B rank gate has strength equivalent to an A rank hunter and the boss of an A rank gate is equivalent to an S rank hunter. The snake that Jin Woo fought before was a D rank boss but its strength was equivalent to a C rank hunter.

We also know the dagger drop from the Serpent was a C-Ranked Item, as in the description of the drop, it was spelled out it was a C-Ranked Item. So I'm not sure how a "D-Ranked" boss drops an item made from it's fang that's a higher level than the Boss itself, unless the Rank of the Item is compared to the hunter receiving it and not the boss itself. The Golem in the Dungeon Break was said to be D-Ranked. We also saw in the Instance Dungeon that E-Ranked Monster became weaker than Jinwoo as he leveled up. The Steel Fanged Lycan which were stronger than the goblins soon became White Lettered (weaker than Jinwoo), by the time he entered the Boss Room. Even the Serpent was only on the same level as Jinwoo. The name or identity thing only works in Solo Dungeons for Jinwoo, apparently. That said, the Spider had to be at least C-ranked to be in a C-Ranked Dungeon and even when the Strike Team became the Boss of the Dungeon, they had a couple C-Ranked Hunters, so it didn't upset the fact that this was a C-Ranked Dungeon. All that said, it typically takes a hunter of at least 1 rank above the Boss' Rank to be able to solo the boss. Jinwoo at level 18 appears to have around B-Rank Strength and abilities, or he shouldn't have been able to defeat the Spider or the Strike team single-handed, using a C-Ranked Weapon. At least that what it appears to me.

Jinwoo gets items in the form of weapons, potions or other things only in instant dungeons, therefore the items given by the system and instant dungeons are also made by the system. The items that Jinwoo gets match the boss because a D rank boss is equivalent to a C rank hunter while a D rank Beast is equivalent to a D rank hunter. in solo leveling when entering an A rank dungeon the boss will be called an A rank boss but the boss's strength is equivalent to an S rank hunter. The items you get don't necessarily match the rank of the boss because when jinwoo beat the snake, Jinwoo gets two items, C rank and A rank items. The spider boss is at least equivalent to a B rank hunter because it requires a party of C rank hunters to defeat it. Jinwoo was able to defeat the boss because Jinwoo knew his weakness and had a dagger with a special effect. Jinwoo should be the one who loses and dies if Jinwoo doesn't use full recovery.
