Fun Fact: The dog, actually named Coco, was a rescue from an Atlanta-area shelter. She was picked for the film. Since she was a rescue, she had no prior film experience and so it was a challenge to get the dog to hit its mark or get the desired shot. Can you imagine? Going from being in a shelter to on a film set in wide open locations. Originally the role of Sarii was supposed to be small but because test audiences responded so well to her, the director expanded her role.

I mean she IS a tracker, so depending on the mud it could make sense for her to mask her smell a little with some "neutral" mud. On the other hand that shit saps heat, so depending on the temperature she might want to clean it off, altho water all over your clothes is also gonna sap warmth. I'm in for subverting expectations, it's just not a true "yeah, of course she'd clean it" moment. It's not exactly illogical, but it doesn't have the instant realization of "shit, that makes a lot more sense", either.
@DJKuroh Жыл бұрын
@Phazz Assuming a tracker needs to be covered in mud is some Hollywood shit. Most animals' noses are so beyond ours that some mud is not going to throw them off a scent. Dogs track scent over miles through all types of terrain, long after the person is gone. If that worked, every modern hunter should be covered in mud. So no, her getting covered in mud and going, "Oh wow, this will make tracking easier," makes absolutely no sense.

@MMAddict392 жыл бұрын
So the Yautja are absolutely ancient they've had access to interstellar travel and plasma based weaponry for millennia at this point, however they do still prefer more simple/honorable weapons when they find worthy prey to hunt. Feral, the name of this Yautja, is a sub species of the main Yautja that we're used to seeing that's why he looked so different than the normal variants and why his gear also has a different aesthetic. This was also Feral's first hunt so he worked his way up from snakes to coyotes to bears to humans and you can see he's pretty full of himself and gets pretty reckless at times.

For a little clarification, the bison were killed by the hunters that she runs into later. Back then, a lot of people truly believed the bounty of the new world was literally limitless. Because of that, people would massacre bison and take only their pelts, believing it wasn't wasteful since the place was so wide and vast that no amount of their impact could endanger the population of bison. This, of course, led to bison being critically endangered in the United States for a long time.

Their weapons and technology are WAY more sophisticated and advanced than most besides the Engineers/Space Jockeys. And... they hunt almost everything and must be bound by honor. They do not attack those that are children, old, sick and defenseless. They only attack those that are either armed or are of a challenge to them. They also kind of attack those that get in the way as well.
