@@spaghettimonster153 Hence my 'yes'. I agree that the lyrics are not changed. There are tons of people, including me, who had not realized how poignant they were because of style of the song. I have seen a number of reactors in the same boat, including Suffi. Not sure if that should count as condescending since where should I descend from? I was in the same boat. Also not sure how your two statements fit together, that I am trying to be condescending and that the lyrics haven't changed.

Ok, I really don't understand how being condescending and sarcastic at the same time works. I didn't intend to be either. If it sounded like that, then I apologize for a bad choice of words. And that was definitely the case, because a number of people have read them differently to how they were meant. I never meant that the lyrics were changed, and I never wanted to imply that nobody knows them as well as you clearly do. I am just fascinated by how much the music and the space someone is in when they listen to it can influence what we take in and what we don't. I mean, the Papa Roach delivery is so good at representing anger and frustration and power, and the lyrics open up other facets. The FIR version really plays into some of those for me, the despair, but also the silent courage, like a highlighter. Don't you get a kick out seeing people finally getting more of the complexity of the song, even some of those to whom the original spoke really intensely the first time round? I really have no negative agenda here. If this comes across badly, I would really appreciate an explanation where I went wrong.

These are the original lyrics. Which shows how much the musical interpretation changes the perception of the lyrics. This is what Falling in Reverse does with all their reimagined/revamped versions of songs. He used the same lyrics as the original, but they stand out so much more here than in the original song. This version brought me to tears the first time I heard it, the song and visuals really shows what it is like living with depression. Great reaction, you got a new subscriber from South Africa 🤘

I really enjoy your reactions! Ronnie's version of this song really brings it to a whole new level of brilliance. I will always love Papa Roach and the original, but the reimagined just hits differently. Since you enjoyed this, I'd like to recommend The Drug In Me Is You & The Drug In Me reimagined. I'd suggest watching them both in one sitting. Also, I'm Not A Vampire & I'm Not A Vampire revamped. Popular Monster is definitely one of my personal favorites along with Voices In My Head, & Zombified. I love all of their music though so it would be a long list! Thanks for your reaction! 🖤🤘

This is in the same vein as other "reimagined" songs Ronnie has done. He takes the original, rocky song and strips it down to deliver the lyrics in a more emotional way. You should check out Sleep Token's, Hey Ya cover. It's very much a similar thing.

Lyrics are exact same, but the Papa Roach version was more up beat jump up and down energetic kinda feel , so the lyrics didn’t seem as dark , Ronnie’s version showcases just how dark these lyrics really are !!!

If you like this definitely check out their original songs "The drug in me is you" and "I'm not a vampire" for context. Then "The drug in me is Reimagined" and "I'm not a vampire Revamped". I recommend watching the original and the remake for each in one video. So, one vid for drug in me videos and one video for vampire videos.

Awesome reaction! Lyrics are the same, but they stand out so much more in the reimagined version. Papa Roach's was great for the younger angry listeners, this one hits hard for us older emotionally struggling people. There is a video of Ronnie showing the reimagined version with Jacoby the first time, it is a wonderful video to watch.

I am really glad you enjoyed it. I love how the orchestration makes us hear the original lyrics properly. There is a video on YT of Ronnie playing it to Shaddix, and I wonder if Shaddix is the second voice on this version with the 'I can't go on'. There are two other things that come to mind. Will Ramos did a stunning cover of Sleeptoken's Chokehold that you might really, really like, also Sleeptoken in general), and I am not sure if you have seen Ren's 'Hi Ren', yet. That will change your life. Literally. At least it has changed the lives of so many of us.

Lyrics are the same. Papa roach version is more of angry teenagers/young adults living for ourselves. Ronnie’s version is more raw and emotional. Those teenagers are grown adults and we’re tired of living through tragedy after tragedy. We’re ready for a break
