From a suitable distance it’s amazing. Our brains tend to over analyze faces which is why I avoid buying portraits. The gaping is annoying but it still looks great! There was a time where all Dac’s had gaping like that one! They’ve improved so much that we forget what it was like. Hopefully diamond painting shoppe will improve drill quality and grid sizing like dac did.

It definitely did feel like the size of the drills and the canvas was a bit mismatched. Thanks for watching!!

I love how honest you are when doing your reviews. Your transparency made me subscribe 🙃 I am so happy I found a channel like mine where most of the review videos are not just sugar coating! ❤❤❤ Thank you for this!!

From a distance it looks good. You don't see where it's happy. Thank's for sharing.

Oh my goodness, that is gorgeous. It really looks lovely finished. I hear you about the gaps when close up, but nobody really puts their faces up close to pics that are on a wall so I bet nobody will even notice. It's lovely. Too bad about the amount of junk drills though; that would be so frustrating to me as well.

Yep, that’s what I’ve decided as well. Thanks for watching!!

While I dislike squares here is one thing I learned about doing a canvas with square drills. DO NOT OBSESS about the gaps, you will drive yourself bonkers, just enjoy the process. We, as the diamond painter see all the mistakes, gaps and everything else we are not happy with BUT it looks just fine to everybody else who has not worked on the canvas. Remember, “mistakes” add to the creativity to the project and make it unique.

It is easy to see all the issues when my nose is an inch from the canvas, lol. Thanks for watching!!

I totally understand your frustration but from a distance, she is absolutely stunning! Trash was a lot. I'm hoping as Diamond Painting gets ever more popular, drill quality will improve across the board.

I appreciate your frustration. I feel, looking at it from a distance through the camera, it turned it quite well. I agree that the contrast inskin colour is definitely a bit jarring, but I feel like wearemorecritical when we are the one to complete the kit.
@DiamondPaintingAnonymous Жыл бұрын
Yep, I think when you have to e so close to the canvas to complete it, it makes it easier to concentrate on the flaws over everything else. Thanks for watching!!

That is a beautiful painting. Wow thats a lot of trash!😮 The skin colour was weird, i agree. When you look at it from a distance, it does look great. I hate gaps and popping drills. Im sorry your experience is not what you wanted. 🧚♂️🧚♂️

It’s funny how just a bit of distance can change your perception of it. I agree, from a distance, it looks great, and that’s how most people will see it. Thanks for watching!!

She's beautiful but I can understand how you feel about the colours they don't look natural when you are close to them and I think that's why I don't do the canvas with people on them maybe later❤❤❤❤

If I have to go “trust the process” throughout the piece it’s gonna stress and burn me out quicker. That’s my opinion on what you are seeing. This piece probably would’ve burnt me out and make me skip it and work on something else for a while. 😢
@DiamondPaintingAnonymous Жыл бұрын
If it had been much larger, I might have done that. Although the fact that it is smaller is one of the reasons I think I was struggling - I’ve been used to working on larger kits lately. Thanks for watching!!

I don't like the shoulder color. Up close, don't like how it looks, of course when you stand back, it looks much better. Maybe use Mica powder for gapping?
@DiamondPaintingAnonymous Жыл бұрын
I did think about the mica powder, but without my nose right next to the canvas, I don’t think it is a noticeable as I thought. Thanks for watching!!

I agree that the skin tones are weird. They could have made her blouse darker, with more contrast. Might have helped. The original image is gorgeous, but I don't think the rendering is as good as it could be.

I just wonder why there is so much gaping. You almost expect it on rounds. I have only done 1 square kit that I never did hear the “click” everyone mentions. I was very disappointed with the finished product. It was a good kit, licensed (for the cost I expected better quality). Why can’t these manufacturers match design with drill size? This isn’t rocket science.

Oof, yea that skin didn’t really turn out great…And that’s a lot of trash! I’m sorry to hear your experience wasn’t very good! :( At least the background turned out okay! Maybe you could use that mica power to fix the gapping? I’ve heard some people use it to fix gapping! (Also, like that one time I said, it’s like homemade ABs!)
@DiamondPaintingAnonymous Жыл бұрын
I considered trying the mica powder, but I wasn’t sure if I would like the AB effect on the background. Thanks for watching!!
