So as a fellow WA state resident, if I buy a Harley at Laidlaw's, I would pay CA sales tax and also WA state sales tax when I register it in WA? 😳 Double taxed? If so, no way I would do that. Way cheaper to pay for a commercial shipper and have it shipped.

Watching these guys go into hock for half the price of my house made my heart sink. That's something I could never do just to ride a motorcycle. Not when FB marketplace is chocked full of great, affordable bikes. Being debt free is a feeling like no other. Riding a bike down the highway that's bought and paid for makes you feel like you're riding on eagles wings.

Suckers .. I did it once .. I wouldn't recommend it, dumped my newer bike and went back to a Evo .. I did some work on it, a guy with a brand new bike with all the Kool new factory hop ups is quite upset because he can't get away from my carburetor evo .. and I still kept it where I can ride cross country and not have to spend days in a hotel waiting on parts

My favorite binge watch while waiting for the snow to stop flying! Waiting for warmer weather to start a western US tour in april. I dont think people understand the lengths a good dealer will go to so a rider can ride away on a new bike, especially with a good trade in. In September 2023, i traded in my 2008 electra glide with only 61, 500 miles for a new street glide and got a fantastic deal. There are still great dealerships out there. Cant wait to see the trips you make in 2024. Stay safe guys, god bless, and hopefully get the chance to buy the group a round somewhere down the road!

Wow brings back memories. Bought my 09 Street Glide from Laidlaws and actually Matt. Still have the picture they take with your new bike. Grandpa was still working the floor and he was the coolest. Talked your ear off and on the floor he had his baby I believe a 1901 HD. Miss that place...they always were great to deal with. Left CA in 2011 after 35 years of cruzin for AZ.....Did you guys hit the Rock Store or any of the biker hot spots? What about California emissions? Isn’t it more stringent than other states? I bought my first bike in LA in 1986 and it had all the smog gear, plus smaller profile cam than regular models. Now that I no longer live in Cali- I can’t see wanting to import a new bike from California. Have things changed? Great vid by the way 👍

Matt Laidlaw seems like a decent guy. We've never met and I don't think I've ever stopped at this dealership. He seems like a real businessman but also fair and not greedy which cannot be said for any of the McDealerships in my State. If I could get a 2023 Breakout for ~ $2k or so under MSRP I'd buy it in a heartbeat. This is what I typically paid for any new Harley in the past. But MoCo/Dealership greed has pushed me out of the market. So I'll just keep riding and wrenching what I have. I bought my first bike (a panhead) in 1962 from a guy who wrecked it. I generally ride cruisers that, as Jesse James has said, look like they have almost enough parts on them to actually run. I just don't know what to make of these guys who are planking down $50k+ for a CVO bagger (or a mobility tricycle) that has more crap on it than my hemi Challenger. A stereo? really? I like your wrench turning videos and I like that Laidlaw is one of the few remaining family owned dealerships. I'd be interested what sort of out the door pricing you got there.
