I just looked at the specs on this and have to ask what they are thinking. It has a 1600 turbo mode but then drops down to 460 lumen output? No 1000, no 800, not even 600? Just 1600 and then 460? Id seriously think of buying this if it did 1600 and 800 but as is, doesnt work for me.

Please makes this the top comment. Nitecore needs to make a springy type cable option so if you attach it to a pack, you have flexibility to move while keeping the cable close to your body. Not like the straight cable, where you need slack which can catch on a foreign object. Or offer detachable cable for different sizes

Got the HC65 V2. After listing to the narrator 3 or 4 times to digest everything he was saying. (Recommend he slow down when speaking.) Customer service is something to be desired. I wish they were as helpful and enthusiastic as the narrator. They do not tell you you have to use their special battery (18550 rechargeable high output 8amp battery retail on line $21.95) The regular 18650's work but not as long. I asked why when charging the lamp body gets really hot and he didn't know. I asked him when on high it drops down to a lower setting, he didn't know. You have to take the battery out and put back in to find out what power is left in the battery. This lamp is only a floodlight and not a spotlight as implied in the video. Overall C rating. I considered returning it until I found out all the hoops you have to jump through and the return charges associated with it.

Why a big gap from high to turbo? It needs some more light setting after high. Needs a 600lm and 800lm and 1000lm setting. It’s sadly lacking for cycling. 400lm not bright enough and turbo is too bright 🤔 This could be ideal for bikepacking but lack of lighting outputs is a no I’m afraid. 😢
@harisyoung41103 жыл бұрын
Yes it will be far better usable if they included ramping mode on their light.. so we can ramp up and down to the desire brightness. the budget light from sofirn and astrolux have these chooseable ramping and stepped mode on their flashlight, its weird why a pricey light such as nitecore and olight wont use that kind of setup on their products.

I purchased one for exploring caves and hiking. The sad thing is that the light is not good. I mean it is ok when you are 50cm to 1 meter distant from a subject. It was already bad that the light is like 6500k, but to iluminate a room or trail or cave, everything becomes BLUE. And the driver makes annoying noise. And you cant turn off the bluetooth And it gets REALLY HOT. SAD that there is no review in which the blueish of the light is mentioned. I'll sure try to customize it to put the same model LED but with the right CRI and Kelvin.

Proprietary fixed cable to the head unit is a major failure point. Continues use of cool white tint is a heavy strain n the eyes. For strain free use the maximum Calvin tint is 4K at 90CRI. Far better and easier on the eyes is 3.5K, down to warm 3K. Spotlight in high humidity, rain or fog is useless at anything higher then 4K, as the entire illuminated area turns into a reflected light area.
