Was halfway through watching the video you deleted. No complaints. Hope you are well. This is a lonely lifestyle. I also live alone, I have 1 cat. Family is gone. Best friends of mine for 30 years moving from Florida to Johnson city Tennesse Sat am because a tree squashed their house from the last hurricanes. I will be visiting Tn for the first time maybe in March. I am 53. Take care friend.

I enjoy being around and socializing with people, but I also enjoy my solitude. I can think clearly without the chatter, without the TV, without the noise pollution. I am most creative when I'm alone. Walk in the woods, go fishing, find trees for firewood, target practice, read, pray, and get a better perspective on what really matters in life.

I would like to add keeping a weekly sabbath. You don't have to call it a sabbath if the term bothers you but a day where you unplug and all your work is done, all your food is prepared, and all you do is rest and read things that are wholesome to you. I will offer fair warning: I went through what I can only call withdrawal but I look forward to it now and it's really saved both my physical and mental health. You don't realize how much you need a break sometimes until you stop moving.
@garrett621Күн бұрын
I agree. That withdrawal from distractions like phones, busy work and useless worry brings a ton of anxiety. I find that I get anxious if I haven't "checked" something on my phone and it's become ridiculous. You make a good point.

I'm a "people person" BUT, I do love my alone time as well. I was born and raised a Country girl but whether it be a park bench in a city park, a quiet lake out in the middle of the sticks or just a quiet room in my house. No matter where I live, I make sure I find a "happy place" I like to call it. Somewhere I can be alone to ponder life and do my own thing. I truly believe it's important that we all make the time to do it otherwise we can lose ourself in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's nice to be able to make the time to take a few deep breaths and push the "reset button" and we owe it to ourselves to do it. It not only benefits ourselves but the people around us.

That's exactly why I enjoy working outdoors. When I'm in a huge field pulling brush, watching for coyote, cougar and a neighboring dog, I don't have time to "think". Fresh air or a bit of rain, sunshine, tall grasses, trees here and there, all the good stuff - nothing like a free mind. No phone, no distractions. Just clarity and, yep, God.

People misunderstand introverts. It isn't being shy or avoiding. Im pretty outgoing.And I am an off the charts introvert. Its about whether you get your energy from others, or from within. I need my cave time to recharge my social battery. On the other hand, strong extroverts find solitude anxiety inducing

On the one hand, I'm almost always alone in my country home, so solitude I have...but when I'm hibernating indoors in winter, I make the mistake of not going down to the stream or taking a stroll. Go get some wash water my brain says, go check on the paths, for crying out loud at least go get the mail - but I don't...then finally, I do...and after awhile stomping around in the snow outside, invariably a strange thing happens where I start to feel more like me, everything makes more sense, and THEN my mind says you should go inside now chores done go back in the trailer, but I don't want to, not anymore, now I want to just stay outside with the trees instead of going back to my coop😎

I was oldest of four. We are retired, child free by choice and enoy peaceful quiet more so in retirement. Comversations w/ other women get boring fast as most their lives focus on celebrity gossip and community or family issues. We tend to be non social and church online. Group activies in the past later seemed to be useless and without merit.

yep, being with nature, reading the bible, and prayer. sounds like some quality time off. this world is constantly trying to get in our heads and reprogram us but, we can fight that by closely examining the scriptures, and applying their mental attitude. especially Jesus ministry and his apostle paul, that did away with the mosaic law but, was built off the same ideology and was refined when Jesus came. take care
