Another banger! Thanks man! I just want to say though, for anybody worrying about the sound of their MIDI guitars, if you're still in the songwriting phase, don't worry about it. In Software Development, there is this concept of "Premature Optimization" which is generally a bad thing because it leads you to overthink and halts your progress. Focus on writing the song first; use articulations but it's ok to be quantized. Once you're happy with the song, then you can iterate over your programmed notes (ala note editing if it were recorded). You'll have to worry about transitions between sections anyways by then, so it is the best time to do it. Once again, thanks for the video, man. Great tips all around. The pitch bend on the down beat on open strings plus the pull-off bend are really great tips. Also gave me the idea to experiment with automating the pick attack (ie. harder on the start of phrases, and mellowing it in between).

The strum technique tip is gold. Ableton 12 now offers an easy way of doing this too both in the Chord midi device, and midi clip settings. With midi clip strumming you have a special curve editor which allows you to adjust exactly how much you want the notes to be offset. Really cool stuff.

Yeah totally!! its just another menu that i am to lazy to go to, so i just do it by hand. i should probably use it tho, lol

Great tips here! I discovered the note offset "strum" effect a couple weeks ago on clean/ambient guitars. So sweet. I don't go so far as to add the pitch bends to the open notes... I guess my MIDI guitar has an Evertune. 😆 Also, in Alan's Erra MIDI riff pack video, he mentions that there's 3 velocity layers per note (per guitar) in Axure: 0-42, 43-86, and 86-127. Just for what it's worth as you're programming the chords! (He goes over that at around the 8:40 mark) I could've sworn I was hearing more than that, but who am I to argue? haha Keep it up, homie!! 💪

Yooo thanks soo much for checking it out and for the write up! Yeahh the strumming is super great! i also have been experimenting on where i like my velocities for the strumm stuff. im starting to use it more and more, and its been fun!!

Tempted to to get Axure for basically everyone else in my band to use when demoing in tandum with my Neural plugins . Problem is that shit Has to be playable after!
