Textbook manipulation and insanely effective. If you can make the person think what they are doing was their own idea or was motivated by their own thought (kinda like inception) you can get them to do anything and with full cooperation. It also has the added effect of technically not being fundamentally wrong, there's nothing truly flawed about the logic of what's being said, and can avoid all culpability and likelihood they will see what your truly doing.

After he takes Jerusalem, he didnt just let the Christians leave. He enslaved them and allowed them to buy their freedom. Your choices matter in life. Thought, word and actions /inactions. And you will be held accountable for them by the one true righteous and holy LORD in judgement. You can choose to trust in His only begotten Son Jesus Christ and be covered from the judgement and inherit eternal life in paradise, or you can go your own way, _which is the way of the deciever, the enemy, be your own 'god',_ and still end up at the same end place, having to stand in front of Him, but without His Son having covered you where you will perish.

You’ve missed the point. Balian did it knowing full well it was wrong, because he felt like it. The point the King is making here is that you cannot(or should not) commit bad actions and then try to spint it or justify it as a good action. Whatever you do, own it and take responsability.

This is one of the best depictions of the concept of personal responsibility tied to a moral code because it acknowledges the fact that in the real world, it is not easy, and that taking a moral stance will or may come with personal costs.

Being an Atheist is a lonely, pointless, restless existence devoid of meaning. We are a species that worships, either worship the divine or you'll end up worshipping the profane. Look no further than the fib sequence or golden ratio, for this fantastic simulation to be without a creator would be impossible. It would be like an explosion in a print shop creating a dictionary. Arrogance is like blindness to the truth you wish not to believe. Life is better with purpose, any parent understands love. The Love of God is why we are, Love is the "why" and we are all simply a dream in the mind of God. I was an atheist then I went to college, studied math and saw patterns that had no other explanation than the divine.

@@unclewormwood One would be hard put to find any people more arrogant (and hostile) than a lot of religious people. Possessing the one truth is pretty addictive, isn't it. We can watch an example of typical end results of that thinking; "I have the one truth" playing out in Gaza as we speak. Religion is like any other ideology with the sole exception that, unlike most other human derived ideologies it never has to actually deliver because the excuses for its failures and for those of its followers and for the excesses of its fanatics are built in. Give 1000 people the same text and one will get 1000 interpretations most of which just happen to support whatever agenda they have and that agenda is usually some form of entitlement and domination over the opposite sex or over other people who are not like them. But I guess that your blindness prevents you from seeing those forms of profanity...Or perhaps you're just another religious enabler and apologist clutching your after life insurance policy...

@@fascilimeThis is just a way to remove Jesus Christ from the message, as the writers and yourself clearly fell for. Christ said "I am the door" he wasn't describing himself as a piece of furniture, he's the way to get in. The bible was written by human beings, if god exists it's almost a certainty that people would twist his words and teachings into a means of control. God doesn't care about your faith, he doesn't care if you worship him, he just would like it if you weren't a complete piece of shit. Religious people need to overcomplicate simple ideas in order to give off a sense of grandiosity and epicness that God doesn't really need or want Kinda like how Hell is depicted as fire and brimstone in popular media when in reality hell is just the world you live in right now and all it's bullshit. Coming from a muslim. He is right. God says in the quran: {On the Day when their faces will be turned over in the Fire, they will say: "Oh, would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger (Muhammad SAW)."} {And they will say: "Our Lord! Verily, we obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us from the (Right) Way.} (33:66-67)

I'd guess that most faiths have a similar story in their texts, and also that most of their followers have either forgotten or ignored it.

I always wondered who played the 24-6; dieing young masterfull pious king Bro he was masterfull,so graceful I never seen another one act in this way, even when he said, Jerusalem was ruled by him at age 16,and remained under it him for about 10-13 years.. a teenager defeated in battle and made peace, not just against Saladin, there werenthe Egyptians and syrians , the Turkish Persian tribes, and most importantly the orders of the day who one of which unlike the teutonic, hospitilator, but the Templars, aka some of the strongest influential warriors of Europe from Spain england France Germand scandans, southernruropeans, Southern slavs, who under guise of being "religious" conspired with the Roman cathoic church and turn the mission from ensuring the safety of any Christians who wished to visit the holy land ,a pilgrim not a settler, and ensure safety of the true cross and many anrelics Jesus hair, the spearhead that pierced him,his thobe, he was divine, but anything that his blood touched because blood is life and loss of it is the end, or things he touched, the true cross was Lost, but the things above were retrieved,it was a mission to exfils or ensure our lords belongings or what he left for the it were to be under rule of an enemy of would maybe, maybe not, meaning it's destruction, but the templars made it into a mission of worldwide riches and mayhem, apostates are your strongest ally, and your most dangerous enemy ,with no heir, Baldwin noble fathers blood line ceased to be spoken for, they would come in let power be swooped,by them muscleling power, which they did to an extent not land or peace wise but in money stolen for and endebting millions of credits, they were and are the stone masons
