Chad. It looks like the latch had been mounted upside down. The beveled side of the latch pin should be facing up toward the rumble seat door...not downward. That way it will pull rather than push. That latch pin should work just like your car door in regard to the rumble door.

Chad & Jolene congratulations on Trudeau resigning today! Jolene it is nice to see you out from behind the camera you brighten things up. Chad before you remove the hood louvers I would suggest finding someone knowlegeable to make sure that the car will not overheat. The V-8 runs fairly hot with not a lot of air flow from just the grille. Could the rumble seat latch have just been installed upside down with the curved part of the tongue needing to face up instead? Taking the day off generally means relaxing and having fun not working!

Nothing he does looks presentable any way, most of his cars are never finished, you will see either no headliner, no door panels, puts stick on chrome for trim. Chop it and sell it to someone to put it back.
