Thank you. I've seen people recording 100,000 to 300,000. I was like what?!? Why so high? You made total sense with your data. There are creators with absolutely no technical knowledge trying to teach people smh. Thank you once again for your video.

The bitrate is so high because it's finished master copy, giving the highest quality possible, the bitrates in these videos are highly compressed meaning when it gets uploaded on KZbin you won't have the highest quality. These tutorials are for beginners and noobies not for people who are not advanced or interested in the real technical stuff.

Oh wow, thank you so much!! It‘s always good to get such feedback because I actually question this myself too often whether or not I should act more excited about whatever and put some cringey expressions and emotions on my face because I can see a lot of KZbinrs do this and they are quite successful with it! But it’s just not who and what I am so I‘ll stick to ‚my‘ style! Appreciate the words, this really gave me some encouragement! Thank you!🙏🏽🙌🏽

Hello Sebastian, thank's for this tutorial. Just one thing I think you are wrong. At 2.06 min. You put the timeline color space (left side Rec 709) and the (right side Rec 709A). It should be like this her under. The timeline colorspace should be (left side Rec709) and (right side Rec 2.4) and the output color space (left side Rec 709) and the (right side Rec709 A) I can proof this, just import your movie the way you have your setup in Final Cut and you will see the movie is much more bright. The way I describe it looks the same as well in Davinci and Final Cut. Also at preferences you are right about the display but also set system-general- automatically tag Rec 709 scene clips as Rec709A. Hope to hear from you about your thoughts Cheers Richard

Thank you, another important thing: If you export in H264 you should even double the Kb/s. So for getting best quality: H265 in 24fps 4K should be: 48.000 kb/s H264 in 24fps 4K should be 96.000 Kb/s

Debatable. While yes, you DO get 4 four times the pixels of a 1080p video (i.e. quadruple the data), it is also true that there's a certain threshold where the difference in quality becomes barely noticable. It all boils down to who your target audience[s] on what platform[s] is[are]. For one, KZbin is not going to play back your 4K video at a Bitrate of 96.000 Kb/s. Even if you rendered your video for local consumption exclusively, a huge Bitrate will most probably result in overwhelming your gear which in turn will result in a stuttering choppy playback of your material. If YOUR computer can only scoff at this statement, well, kudos to you for working on such a beefy machine. 99% of the population won't get the same experience out of it. You're preparing a film festival and have access to a professional (wherever you draw the line there...) projector? Well, quite frankly, why bother with H.264/265 compression at all? This isn't the video for you. Also - in a sense, H.264 doesn't need "more Kb/s", it's rather that H.265 needs "LESS Kb/s" given that it is the new kid on the block. So if you rendered your 24fps video at the propagated 48.000 Kb/s, you could most likely go LOWER with H.265 to achieve similar results. In the end, it's always a tradeoff. However, following the purported "frame rate * 2000" principle should yield you more than satisfactory results in 99.9% of the cases.

If you use Hardware accelerated encoding = Faster renders but lower quality output. Software encoding should be used for the smallest file size while retaining best quality. Prepare for 5-10x the render time though depending on your system. Apple silicon have hardware encoders. Regular chips have 1. Max chips have 2. Ultras have 4.

bitrate encoding is pretty ancient technology, the thing you should really use is quality based enocoding which keeps the same quality over every frame variable bitrate is always a guessing game and isn't accurate, also you get much bigger video files from it that doesnt need to be that big for that quality quality based encoding isnt offered by a lot of encoders unfortunatley, x264 and x265 is supporting that (CQP/CRF) and is pretty efficent

Mac is extremely generic right now, would have been good for me if you would specify which model of Mac your video is referring to. I am trying to find a good "timeline resolution from the settings. Reason I ventured there is cause my trial renders yielded not a good screen size after trying different render resolutions. I have Mac studio (running the DR studio 18.5 (a beginner) but not using apple display. Thank you.

whenever I add a low light video shot in DJI Osmo Action 4 in Da Vinci Resolve editor, the colors are continuously flickering up and down and resulting in bad image quality. Can you please help me with some solution.

Bitrate for Wqhd and 60 FPS?
@SebastianFriedrichVisuals

That’s a res and framerate I never touch but I‘d say about 90-100k should do the job

Hey so please correct me if im wrong, as I'm not a genuis in any of these topics, but I just want to ask for some help. I copied all your settings except for the resolution which I changed to custom and used 2560 x 1440, and I uploaded a short minute and a half clip of me playing minecraft to youtube. I recorded with OBS, with a CQP level of 14 60 FPS, and a resolution 1920 x 1080. It didn't take long to upload, which is the problem that I've been encountering a lot, but when it was fully uploaded the quality still seemed really bad. I have a 4060 TI and a Intel I7 13700F so I don't know what could be making it so bad.

The first thing I see why quality is reduced, is you’re recording 1080 but outputting 1440. leave the output the size your recording is, otherwise you take a smaller image and upscale it to a larger one = poor quality. So try those settings: Timeline and output frame rate : 60 Timeline and output res: 1080 Color Timeline and output: 709; gamma 2.4 Delivery: Mp4 / h.264 Bitrate 60.000 That‘ll do the job

Why didn't you cover "multi-pass encode"? Way better results with that without increasing the file quality. Also there's much better timeline colour spaces to work in than Rec709 to get the most out of Resolve tools, Davinci WG and Davinci Intermediate for example

I know, but most of my following just does social media content / KZbin videos, multi pass encode isn’t needed imho as the compression on those platforms make it almost irrelevant. Of course WG / Intermediate is a better color space to work in, (and I do so, too) but once again, I gotta think about my audience and what they’re doing. Going through te DWG / Intermediate process just adds another layer of complexity, which most people don’t care about for a simple TikTok / Reel / YT short

@@SebastianFriedrichVisuals Right but what you're teaching and the video headline don't correlate then. If you're getting 100k+ views on this video then there should be some more informing going on as well about these things, people care a lot about their own work and at least with a bit more background and explainer then people would have threads they can follow if they want to learn more - just my two cents

Is it worth buying the paid version to get the 'best' quality download?
@SebastianFriedrichVisuals
@SebastianFriedrichVisuals Жыл бұрын
Hey Emily - I don’t quite get the question, what download? In terms of pure quality, there’s not a real difference in paid vs free version - but on the studio version you are able to work with 10bit + images, which will lead to better quality ultimately but you have to have a camera that can shoot 10bit+

I have followed your tips and thank you for your help. Maybe you have a suggestion for this issue? I just tried to render my first project, which gave me a "Render job file 1 fail the ed as current clip could not be processed." The message reads, "The current frame or clip could not be processed successfully." I will also go through the manual to see if they have any suggestions as well. Thanks again for all of your help.

Hey! Sooo sorry for just seeing this comment that late - I know from experience that this must be something to do with your storage being full! This just recently happened to me as I was exporting a video to an external ssd where not enough space was left to fit the entire video so every time I tried rendering it showed me this result! Have you already figured it out? What was the issue?
