Great advice! I'll try these tips. Also I've learned that mascara smudges later in the day more often if I have applied 2 coats to my bottom lashes, so now I only apply one coat. It makes a big difference in terms of wear time.

I have long lower and upper lashes and I always have struggled with trying to prevent it from transferring onto my skin as the day goes on. Use a clean spoolie to gently flick of the mascara but you must ensure it is completely dry or you will make it worse. Hope this works for you.

You can also use a very small flat brush, like a lipstick brush, dip it in mascara and brush the bottom lashes gently. More control.

I ALWAYS have smudges below and above…when I’m done as it’s my last step, I give the lashes a good 4 or so minutes to dry and then just use a q-tip to remove the smudges. As long as the mascara is fully dry it comes right off very easily.

Totally agree a thinner wand is easier and more efficient. I don’t wear foundation, so just remove smudges with a moist Q tip. Certainly would not be scrubbing delicate under eye skin with a brush!

I have presbyopia, I find it difficult to put on make up without my glasses, every time I put on a pencil or mascara οr eye shadows I have to wear the presbyopia glasses to see if I put them on properly and then take them off to continue the make up, and then have to wear them again and so on , big problem, is there a solution ?😭😭😭😭 greetings from Greece!!!!!

Q-tips work amazing as long as you wait until the mascara is fully dry before you try to get rid of the smudge. Fully dry is the key…I give them a good 4-5 mins before I try to remove

I have had great success removing errant mascara smudges using a Q-tip with a tiny dab of facial moisturizer on one side. Use the moisturized side on the skin, and make sure the dry side is up in case the smudge is right up close to your lash line-- you don't want the moisturizer to get on your lashes since it will remove some of the mascara there. Plus it adds a little extra moisturizer to the skin which is always a bonus!

I use a Q-tip also, but no moisturizer. I just wait 4 or so minutes so I know it’s fully dry and then it comes right off

That’s good, but what if it’s not the applying that causes smudges, but once you’ve had it on a while? I end up looking like a raccoon. It always smudges under my eyes. I have sensitive eyes too so have to be careful what I use. Waterproof mascaras tend not to be for sensitive eyes sadly. 😥

The tubular máscaras work for this issue but they do not give as much “oomph” as some of the other mascaras. I use Trish McEvoy (but not her newest formula)and reliably have no raccoon eyes and they are very nice for sensitive eyes. Hourglass also has a tubular mascara and my understanding is AuCoin does as well although haven’t tried it.
