This Wilmon kiss in episode 5 of Young Royals was IMPROVISED!

There were several improvised scenes apparently in the show - the one where Wilhelm is high on drink and drugs in the park. There were actual members of the public there at the time and Edvin said he was wondering what they were thinking was going on!

Just to add ..... he hadn't REALLY been taking any drink or drugs. That was part of the story. It was his physical antics on the football field that he improvised. Just thought that I had better make that clear!

It's interesting that the director said "Kiss him!" and not just "Kiss!" basically instructing Edvin to improvise again, seems like they love getting Edvin to improvise because he's a very experienced and intuitive actor and totally immerses himself in the role which makes it come across very natural and Omar plays off that 🙂

the kiss was so successful & natural, because it was unscripted & improvised........No intimacy coach. no stage hands, lighting people & crew, 2 feet outside the frame. From what I've seen, they are very affectionate, off set.I'm sure a spontaneous kiss wasn't an uncomfortable challenge they had to prepare for.

They had an intimacy coach because they’ve never crossed the friendship border before Young Royal series. Therefore, being around one another and showing chemistry was easy, but kissing one another took practice. Once they got used to kissing and embracing though, it was easy for them to improvise.

@@oliviaservant3036 the job of the intimacy coach, is to 'coach' the actors "girl or guy" into looking natural. to make sure noses don't get in the way. they coach the actors to look natural and hope the actors don't get aroused and cover it up if they do. haha real friends, who are secure in there sexuality, gay or straight, can be affectionate. I think that the improvised kiss, was a result of them being totally comfortable with each other. like when they have hugged in public .

@@roncaron8939 Yes I agree with you. I’m only reporting what they’ve stated in a LIVE Stream they’ve done months ago (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWnSZqtnr5iLsNE). At 12:51, they revealed that not only the kiss but the whole lake scene was improvised. Then, at 18:35, they talked about Wilhelm’s cramp in the first kissing scene that Edvin actually had at the moment of shooting and added to the script. Then they mentioned their intimate coordinator at 20:10, which they talked more about in an interview I cannot find anymore. Edvin and Omar were already comfortable around one another as friends and affectionate towards the other. They said that passing the friendship barrier was harder than they thought and acting the intimate scenes felt awkward at first. They thought since they have a great chemistry in real life that intimate scenes would be easy, but it wasn’t the case. The only job of the intimacy coordinator in this series was to get them comfortable acting romantically towards one another, enough to improvise scenes like the kiss in the forest.

@@oliviaservant3036 They weren't friends before Young Royals though. They met during the casting. They said in an interview that Young Royals' intimacy coordinator Sara Arrhusius had them do hugging exercises to break the ice. They also talked about her making them do trust exercises and consent exercises to learn how to read each other's bodies and how to constantly seek and get verbal and non verbal consent for any kind of intimacy scenes, including such who don't include kissing like the one in the locker room in Episode 6. There is a great long interview with their intimacy coordinator on KZbin. Working so close with each other made them close friends.

Omar and Edvin have said that no intimate scenes where improvised by them. Though the complete lake scene including what was said was improvised. The director tells them what they're meant to get across and they improvise.

@@gerganakantcheva8176 Rojda explained what they meant by that, not what people think actually. Every scene is fully scripted. They filmed 2 times each scene. Then, when they got enough material, they did a "fucked up take" of the scene, where everybody actors and crew got wild. Then, when editing, the director mixed the best of the 2 scripted scene takes, and the fucked up one, and obtained one product of a scene, where there was potentially a peace of fucked up/improvised one. So, the actors in interview recognized peaces of improvisation. But without explaining the concept, people misunderstood. But it is not like telling the actors to improvise and keeping it. It is just pa peace of it, in the "scripted" take. Do you understand what I mean?

But Edvin and Omar definitely said in the TikTok live that the whole lake scene and everything said in it was improvised, while in other scenes there were just improvised sentences, like in the fish scene Edvin improvised the fish question and Omar spontaniously had to come up with an answer.

They called improvise bc not scripted this ’s like a last minute decision from the director herself didn't know if one of them would did it or not they both said the first kiss was weird but for the others they get used to it Edvin even said the kiss scenes were insanly good ( he said it in swed so idk if he actually said that or not but that I saw in the caption the professionalism the talent and the trust they got made these scenes kiss sane beautiful and natural can't wait for November
