Bought the Mevo a while ago. Very strong buyer's remorse. I could have had much better results with a good camera with HDMI out into OBS Studio. I just didn't know it at the time. For anyone thinking of the Mevo (especially for streaming/camera angle switching), first learn about using OBS Studio (for free) to create and switch scenes while recording or streaming. If you decide the Mevo is still for you, great--get it. But for this Mevo buyer, the best setup I didn't know about was (Any 4K/1080p camera with HDMI out) + (Cheap capture card) + (OBS Studio) = (Everything the Mevo does for less money and headache).

@@supriabudiman2425 Cheapest? I'd use your current smartphone. You can send its video feed directly into OBS using an app like Iriun or iVCam at full 1080p.

I need a solution where I can move the camera in the same room without any cables attached to the computer and stream wirelessly on multiple platforms at once. Would this work with Meevo? I use these Mevos every once in awhile for event work. They are glorified webcams (work great as a webcam actually). Nice to toss in the back of a room to capture a small breakout room when you don't have the budget for a camera and operator. Might suffice for KZbin livestreams but there are obviously much better alternatives for that. Weird video without showing the actual resulting video quality.

Not to mention, what no one seems to tell anyone in any of these tutorials is that if you want to use RTMP (I do, I created my own streaming platform) you cannot feed your signal to any streaming service like Dacast that asks for authentication. So Freakin' frustrated right now, what a waste of money. I don't suppose you know how to create a stream url with the u/n/p/w in the string?

Would like to see more of the actual video quality from the cameras and how it compares to a cell phone. We got lots of shots of the tablet, but not direct footage from the camera.

The fact this review doesn’t show the footage from the camera says it all. The iPad preview footage looks ok but there’s no background blur so while this could be a great thing for playing around with I think you’d get better quality from using your phone.

Looking them up quickly shows they only shoot in 1080. Theres nothing "pro" about 1080 in almost 2023.

A good friend of mine is using Mevo system for his church livestream and I think in that type of application it's not that good. My friend is using the Mevo in a low light situation and the quality image is very poor and also there's always a delay with the sound. It's not something you would like to consider if you have the budget to buy a ZV-10 or a 6400. And when you are buying Mevo, you are stuck with the Mevo system, in app payment and so on and you can't really cross the border. I would think twice before using Mevo as a main gear. Altought, your video is great, I like the way you are putting this camera at work, it gives another perspective!

I need these in my 2023 life, at just under $1,000 at the time of this video for the 3-pack, I wonder how long before it's semi-obsolete given it's limited to 1080p in a world where everything outside of basic webcam's are 4K. Granted many people consume content on the smart devices. Maybe ill keep the 4K in the studio and grab these for on-the-go.

This should be listed in like a "beginner's guide" for content capture and creation. It's approachable with the price, you can expand, and it's easier to get into until you learn to become a better editor and move on to some of the larger DLSR cams!

I haven’t used these Mevo cameras but just from the specs I would assume a GoPro 9, 10, or 11 would out-perform these in quality given these are capped at 1080p. For example, the latest GoPro HERO11 shoots up to 5K with excellent video quality.

Question - I’m more of an audio guy than video, but we are looking for a simple solution for streaming our church service. Is there a way to import sound from a mixing board into the app? Or is there a Mac/PC app that can be used with this. I love the small form factor and the price point of these cameras but not sure if it would work with our application. Thanks - great video.

I have my three cameras. I am going to be using them in my garage and car. Taking them to car shows and live-streaming. I will be trying to run the sound into a portable sound board/sound card for mixing. … I plan to use it on my iPad and through OBS on my streaming computer. Maybe even to DJ on twitch. It’s in the works. I think I may get the POE to run Ethernet and power for the garage for longer recording and streaming. … But in the car these things would save so much space and still get the job done. Just need to get a good source of light for places like underneath the dashboard.

If you want to blow your mind, run this setup from an LG Wing android phone. They can be had for a couple hundred dollars new as opposed to the $1000+ when it launched, and it continues to get OS updates. With this device, you can launch Mevo Go, start a multitask split screen, launch Multicam and connect to Mevo Go ON THE SAME DEVICE! You can then flip open the second screen and put Go on it. At this point, everything is sideways until you turn the device 90° so the second screen is off to the right. Now you have the fullscreen control panel for Multicam in portrait mode on the main screen and your internal cam on the second screen with full access to its pinch zoom and pan features. This is the ultimate solo operator setup where you can run 3 Mevos mounted on tripods and do handheld shots using your device camera. Incredible.

each camera can have a mic plugged in but there are some mic kits like the rode wireless go 2 that has two mics but 1 receiver!

For perfect synchronization of sound and audio with Mivo, you reallllly need HDMI out (it does not) or you have to bring all Memory Cards into an editing program and sync audio, especially if the audio drifts.

I use 3 HuddlecamHD pro cameras to record my podcast in 4K. Currently I have them connected via USB but they also have HDMI inputs and can be controlled via PTZ operation. Cheapest alternative that I've found so far for 4K content. The only issue I have now is the capture software I use does not allow for screen capture. I wish OBS allowed you to record multiple cameras as separate files.

I’m sure the video quality isn’t great. Probably need tons of light to avoid noise with such a tiny sensor. The convenience of having wireless cameras and the app to switch camera angels from is the only benefit I see.

I'm the only person left who's still using the original Mevo camera that I got when they were still crowd sourcing....pretty much can only be used as a go pro type of camera now but at least it's got a better quality glass lens.

@@J0shluna Same. I think the 1080p is because they’re streaming-focused. If they do a MKII version, they should have 4k internal recording… and a cold shoe mount!!! I’ve found a few videos on YT demo’ing the quality, and it’s not bad. But not $999 good!

If your older phones have decent 1080p cameras it will be about the same. 3 older gopros set to narrow angle so you don't the fish eye will be about the same as well.
