Rogue class is too slow and not strong enough to have a good deck built around it in such an aggro-centric meta.

@@alexjgilpin I feel like Rogue class has to be bad in general, because it underperformed for me in limited, and usually cards like it should be better in limited except for cards that need to be totally build around like luminmancer or something. Especially since the limited deck had stuff that synergised with it. Unblockables and all that.

I actually really like rogue class. It’s slow to ultimate, but it’s less about using the cards I get and more about denial for my opponent. Pairing it with unblockables yields really nice results and I have Xanathar in there as a finisher. It’s my favorite deck I’ve made so far.

Quote from that video: 51:50 "In mythic ranked when I have a card in my deck... that I know is losing me games I can't play it. It ruins everything about the video for me... that's why I don't play decks that people send me. That's why I don't want to see people's deck lists. Even decks that people send me... I want to build my own decks and play cards that I know are good." I agree that it would be fun to see, but he doesn't want to do it because actually using the card hurts him.

They should have done something else for the level 2, giving your creatures menace doesn't do shit for you since the rogues you'll be running will either come with flying or something that makes them unblockable, the level 2 is just putting a hat on a hat while simultaneously throwing away your turn 3 curve

I've been using Krydle of Baldur's Gate in combination with Thought Thief and Zareth San. Krydle can make Zareth unblockable, so you are guaranteed to snag something from the graveyard that's been discarded, milled by the Thieves or from removal.

Sneaking a Reaper’s Talisman in there might help a rogue get in unblocked more often for Zareth San. It’s a good aggressive piece of tech without the big guy in your hand as well.

I am also playing a Blue White Party deck and making the climb quite effectively. Except I am also using Fly and Yuan-Ti Malison for a nice VitD package as well. The snow was for ascendant spirit to make it a warrior and for some late game tasty

I made a deck with the rogue class, but no rogues except Zareth-san and Krydle. It's pretty op with Alrunds epiphany, you get to steal so many cards from your opponent. It's very much a shift from Rogues as Mill to Rogues as Thieves.

Kaya, The Inexorable, merfolk windrobber, Zareth San, Yuan Ti Meleson, and a spread of removal and counters. Snow in the Manabase to up your rogues. Kaya is your only white card.

I think the trickster is super strong. Not that i played it personally. I am sticking to one set I got from cgb months ago. (Lifebalde - I love it.) And I hated rouges. Cause, you know. It's just not a fine play. But the new season will be pretty challenging for old decks. Maybe it always has been. I am just a newbie, finishing in limited mostly without a win and only cgbs ideas brings me to diamond in standard, fortunately. But the zareth card seens super strong. What do you think? I always was looking at it, like it was just to expensive and slow. But the flash, attacking bonus with graveyard steel makes it now so super strong in my opinion. CGB, thanks that I get all this insight. Theoreticlly at least. Cheers

Why don't you have snow lands in place of the non-snow basics? It came up at least once that you could steal a faceless haven, but you didn't have the snow mana to activate it. Seems like that one change wouldn't negatively affect the deck at all but could have stolen you a win or two.

Rogues is worse without the one-mana flash 3/2 deathtouch for one, the unconditional counterspell for two that's alternately unconditional creature removal, the instant speed draw four for four? You don't say! (Of course that's an exaggeration, it's all conditional, those cards aren't that good until _at least_ turn two.)

If you use a top deck and are good enough not to make many mistakes, maybe a week or two depending on how much time you have. If you are brewing a lot and trying different decks out in ranked, end of the season unless you are really really good

Rouges are losing a lot of their good stuff in rotation, it's often pretty hard to revive a deck ounce that happens. I don't like rouges so I don't mind in this case. :)
