I don't like how the tasks app cannot be switched for another app. Also, I feel like a launcher that had maybe 5-8 apps would be more practical (I would still exclude social media and youtube from that 5-8 though. Let's be honest, those few apps are the REAL culprits behind phone addiction. My core apps would be as follows: 1. email client 2. messages 3. google / some web browser 4. Spotify / some music streaming app 5. calendar 6. phone 7. maps 8. tasks / some tasks client I don't feel as if any of these are sucking too much of our attention for long periods of time, at least on a mobile platform. I don't have any apps that made me addicted for long. The most addictive thing for me in a smartphone is the immediate connection to people and the limitless source of information. You can stalk anyone on Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and countless other platforms, talk to anyone on Messenger, Viber, WhatsApp and all the others. You can also get an unlimited amount of information about anything on the internet almost everywhere. It's a crazy crazy world, especially when we think it's been only 30 years ago when for most people, the main form of interaction with remote people was actual mailing. The younger generation doesn't even know what that is and how to send a letter to someone physically. It's all electronic. And I do use my smartphone a lot, too, I couldn't live without it the way I do now, I need it for work, for anything basically. The internet is the most useful thing, you can gather so much knowledge in so little time, but have we become more intelligent, more clever? Or are we just relocating our lives and turning away from nature, real interactions and real relationships? Hard to imagine what would happen if the internet went down for a while. How would people cope with that? Now that I've said all that's on my mind, let me fucking talk to all the unneccessary people in my life on facebook goddamn

Tbh you don't really need to have the phone app and the messages app, just one or the other because you can still get the same message across through text, as you would through a phone call, or vice versa. Also, you don't really need Maps, you can just use Chrome or some other sort of browser to use it, and with a web browser replacing Maps, you can get a lot more done... 🤔

Through a text it’s more time consuming than a call depending on the length of the text so it depends on how much you value you’re time to be, as a call could save you hours than writing paragraphs upon paragraphs through texting

This is how I get around with similar result. I let my home screen *empty* , means no app icon, no Google search widget nothing at all. I access all those apps in App drawer. So my home screen is completely empty. Others may disagree with me, that is fine, but it works out well for me.

The 4 apps I would use: • Phone - I always resorted to text, so this will be a good change of habits. • Tasks (Google Keep) - Got a lot of ideas. • Pandora Radio - Gotta have my music. Just ain't the same without it. • Camera - For making content and stuff. I'd say Twitter has been the biggest problem for me. Always mindlessly scrolling without a reason. Need to disconnect for a bit from that...

Tough question... Two games I play, Phone carrier app, Messenger (as ppl I know refuse to stop contacting me through it.), & Army knife app (as it's multifunctional). * if ppl would stop causing me to have to keep re-installing messenger, then it would be... Hmm... Regal cinemas app Then again, I'd probably keep the regal cinemas app, over my phone carrier app, lol. Most other things really can be accessed through the internet, so it's a matter of deciding which apps can't be, and which I'd rather have. I have 2 phones, as I kept my old phone (this phone), when I bought my new phone. I would not limit my new phone though. New phone uses: calls, texts, photography, editing, music, notes, contacts, hotspot. Older phone uses: gaming, KZbin, Crunchyroll, Funimation, Shopping/order foood, Messenger, movie club card app, music, alarm clock, social sites. If ai had to limit my older phone, yeah, the above listed apps would prob be it. 👍 But ai think a key point is that you can switch up which 4 apps, so it's not like you can only use those 4 apps forever.
