I love X-Men:Next Dimension. Funny story: When I was in high school, I would go to my mate's place. He had it on Xbox original and we would jam it. I would get smashed so bad. Now, my mate and his brother didn't even know combos. They just spammed long range moves lol. I asked him if I could borrow it. I learnt how to use all the characters. When I played them again, they didn't enjoy the beatdowns lol. Magneto and Cyclops were my best characters.
@Lonewolf8611 Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanharwood1255 yeah, it was one of the best X-Men fighting games for sure. I had it on ps2, but the gamecube version seemed to be the better version with all the unlockable classic 90's outfits. It seemed to have more content than the ps2 version too. My favorite character was Gambit, but every character was fun to use in that game.
@jonathanharwood1255 Жыл бұрын
@@Lonewolf8611 oh true. I didn't know that. I'll have to check that out if it's the same on Xbox too. I still have our Xbox original but I can't seem to find the game. Might have to buy it somewhere. Yeah, Gambit was really good. The card attacks were so good and his level 3 was crazy. You could get 50 hit combos with him just with the addition of his card attacks.

OMG. I hope you get to play the sequel. That one is mad fun. It's MSH in 3d. And what's cool about it everyone can do aerial raves from any normal or special that can launch the opponent to the air. Also you can transfer your energy in between in those meters. If it's not this one then it is probably the sequel. I usually do the energy transfers when doing specials. I believe you have to hit back then either press a button assigned to those meters. They even had obscure characters added to the roster like Forge and Havok. Jean Grey has this ability to confuse the opponent's controls (works well with human players but not A.I.). Also Rogue having 3 supers here.

At the time, it had some neat ideas, and even with the jank it had some Marvel esque insanity (check the combo videos). Mutant Academy 2 was a bit crazier, and it all peaked in Next Dimension in terms of craziness and BUSTED gameplay. What makes it pretty darn clunky is how super meters are managed, though hilariously enough, it's one of the FEW (if not maybe only?) fighting games where you can actively shift total bar resources into the different meters, so you COULD like, have maxed out all your bars, but shift meter (at least in Next Dimension) to repeatedly do level 1 supers multiple times.

The sequel to this, X-Men: Next Dimension, was one of my favorite games growing up. Playing Toad all day. Super janky tho. Like, "easily clip out of the boundaries of the stage" janky. Like "Nightcrawler has a handcuffs glitch" janky. Like "you can get characters to be in standing in midair" janky.
