Great explanation of what to use and when. I normally go organic with homemade compost but I’m thinking about adding some 10-10-10 for better production this year. Oh… every year I like to add something new… this year it’s peanuts that I got from y’all! Can’t wait to see how they do! Thanks for the great info!!

Great video. We have to be mindful when using manures as soley organic fertilizer to know what the animal was eating and if it was grazing in synthetic fertile fields

I'm taking notes. That's the old way of doing it. ALWAY made the most sense to me. But everything is going towards no till. And then you plant IN that enriched MIXTURE of goodness. The problem I with the side dressing fertilizer is why not just dump it on top if you don't mix/till it in? The rains will bleed it down. Plus that compost amendment will keep the top surface from blowing away like dust in the wind. - Just observations. Still learning maybe.

Another informative video and Thank You! We are trying to do as you suggest with the one exception and that being compost. We are going to make a compost bin and just have not gotten there yet. As far as available manure we use a combination of aged chicken/turkey. We also use a lot of goat and rabbit manure. Which believe it or not we can't seem to be able to give it away?

You are right, thats hard to believe. I would love to have a source where I could get Rabbit manure.

@@Shelzbells We have seen where there are people out there and they are selling their Rabbit/Sheep/Goat manure. They all pretty much have the same positive NPK qualities. Then what is also so nice one can basically use it fresh as it is a "cold" manure and it will not burn your plants like say Chicken/Turkey manure when it is fresh!

🫣too late. I already put my 10-10-10 in my raised beds so it could be absorbing. I sprinkled it thruout. Wish I had thought about only doing the furrows. But I do use compost so at least I did that. Lol Almost planting time here in AL. 👩‍🌾💚👏👏👏

Best I can figure, my garden is about 3600 square feet. I'm sure I have been guessing about how much fertilizer I have been shooting to it. How much 20-20-20- and Micro Boost do you think at a time? I've been side dressing the corn with Chilean Nitrate and like in one of your videos, I shot a little of that to the whole thing early on.
@gardeningwithhoss
@gardeningwithhoss Жыл бұрын
When using our Hoss Fertilizer Injector, mix 1-2 lbs of 20-20-20 per 1,000 square feet of garden. Apply every 2-3 weeks or as plants appear to need it. 20-20-20 can also be combined with our Micro-Boost Micronutrient Supplement. If mixing fertilizer in a 5 gallon bucket, add 1 cup of Micro-Boost per 5 gallons of water and apply as directed above. If using the Hoss Fertilizer Injector, add 1-2 cups of Micro-Boost in the injector tank along with the 20-20-20 fertilizer as directed above.
