Why I though that they didn't have any new support is, because things were displayed in the video a little bit unclear and easy to misunderstand, since Loom showed only a few vanilla cards in his representation, so I though that Brit just played a few random cards somehow in his deck like a complete noob, which was a little bit stupid I have to admit, but still not only my fault in the end. YOU HEARD THAT LOOM? Lol Joke, if I was a little bit better informed about the current state of the game, I assume that this wouldn't have happened, but idk. This is not meant to front anyone.

@@kamudo999 a) yes, you the controller selects the zones to block (unless it is specified which zones are to be blocked) b) no, you can't block the zone [the opponent] is sitting in, as the arrest is still ongoing and you have to chose unoccupied zones during activation. therefore the zone is still occupied until the chain resolves. c) unfortunately your opponent isn't a monster (even if he potentially has done unspeakable things) and your opponent doesn't occupie a zone.

Here’s my story. Back in 2015, there was this hoppy shop that I used to go to hang out with friends, but didn’t participate much in locals because they would take all night to finish. One time I thought to enter for a change of pace, and brought my Blue-Eyes/Ghostrick deck. Somehow reached top 4, and my opponent for that round was called the doctor, who was playing Kozmo. The match was close, with him taking the first round, and me taking the second. Last game was very close, and after a very long game, it is my turn, with me at 500 LP, Doc at 250 with a board of only troopers, and both of us with no hands. I draw for the turn, and it was Soul Charge. At that moment I shout: “you don’t kill me. I kill me. Soul Charge”, and I slam the card on the table. At that exact moment, the shop’s glass door was shattered and everyone at the shop was dumbfounded. I notice the shop owner who was next to me because he was watching our duel, and I just go “sorry”. As for why the door broke down, we never figured out, but the owner assumes that it gave up after too many people crashed into it all the time.

One time I went to a WCQ brooklyn 2017 regional with a friend. My friend was using full power zoo abd I let him borrow some cards of mine to get full power such as a 2 barrages. I was using Dark Synchro climb deck based on getting Quasar, Sifr, Blazar, and Clear or Crystal Wing. Idea is get as many big synchros out as soon as possible to overwhelm the opponent. Round 1 Zoo, was a loss but not without taking a game. Round 2 Majespecter a quick win that ultimately was decided because opponent didn't fully understand that Clear Wing technically has two negates and I sequenced them correctly. Round 3 a Goat deck. Just straight up goat. Opponent was using a recently unbanned sinister serpent that had pre-errata text on it. When I confronted him on it he said "The card lets me add it back at no cost so I'm going to do what the card says." After hear that and also knowing full well that my deck had no issue with Goat I decided eh why not. Proceeded to wipe them with a clean 2-0. Opponent says something about not liking synchrons yada yada I didn't care. Round 4 and this is where the story happens. You see at this point in time Zoo was undisputed king of yugioh. There were other decks like Majespector, ABC, Invoked, etc. Anyways The round begins and I go first. I gaze upon my hand look at my opponent who has such a calm composer in this crowded venue. I know what I'm about to do to this man. With my turn I begin to start my synchro climb, drawing multiple cards through TG Liberian, abusing level eater, and getting out Quasar, Blazar, and Clear Wing, then just when my opponent thought it was over I used Soul Charge to bring back 3 synchros and use them get the last of my boss monsters and bring out Sifr. 3 lv12 Synchros and 1 Clear wing stand before me as my monsters ready themselves to end this match quickly. Somehow my deck garnered the eyes of others around us is awe what I had created. I heard from a player next to ask me "WHAT DID THIS MAN TO DO YOU!?" I may have had quite the ego in that moment, but I figured something so flashy as this would make anyone scared to dare break my board. I ended my turn with utmost confidence. My opponent drew and complimented me on such a feat, but before I could say anything. His hand threw down immediately Sphere Mode Ra tributing my 3 large synchros. My confidence faded and soon dread overcame. With nothing but Sphere mode and clear wing and i thought "ok I can still do this." Just as that thought came, it to vanished as he slapped down a Gameciel over my Clear Wing. The crowd had now gone wild as my board was broken. This was still not over. My opponent then played the card Owner's Seal returning Gameciel and Sphere mode to his field. Then proceeds to tribute Sphere mode for The Winged Dragon of Ra. I realize whats about to happen. The life points I paid for soul charge earlier is now about to backfire. A 4k Ra + 2200 Gameciel is more than enough for my 5k Life Points. I lose Game 1 in an OTK fashion. Everyone is screaming in awe of wtf just happened. I pull myself back in to the mindset I had earlier now with even more confidence. I say out loud. "I KNOW WHAT TO SIDE IN" Those words shook everyone that heard it. My friend and lots of others who had dropped that overheard this duel happening are now spectating. The players next to us some just gave up their matches to watch this duel. For slight context Dark Synchro is kinda a struggle bus on what to side sometimes so I just throw in things that just work, and sometimes especially at this point in the game Kaijus are the answer. So I go first and mange to bring out Sifr, Blazar, and Clear Wing out again with ease. His turn Lava Golemn, and Kaiju then Owners Seal again. This time doesn't kill me. I then say with these words, "Since you control a Kaiju I summon Jizukiru" then proceed to synchro spam again with Quasar and a brought back Clear Wing. I manage to wipe his monsters and put him at low life points. He counters with Ra Sphere mode again, however this time he doesn't have a way to give itself back. My turn again and I think I'm out of options, but then I reread Sphere mode. Did you know: Sphere Mode has targeting protection... for the opponent only. I check my graveyard and see it. "I activate the effect of Level Eater" Ra is now lv9. The crowd is wondering whats gonna happen. "I activate my second level eater" Ra is now lv8. Thinking I'm just trying to make a wall my opponent thinks nothing of it. "I activate foolish buriel sending my Jet Synchron" I then proceed to use Jet's GY effect to bring itself back by discarding my 3rd level eater. "I use my 3rd and last level eater to make Ra lv7." With a smile on my face with how much fun I'm having with this match I shout. "I NOW SYNCHRO SUMMON USING THE RA YOU GAVE ME AND MY JET SYNCHRON" The crowd, onlookers, judges, and my opponent are in sheer madness of what I just said. I proceed to bring out Stardust Spark Dragon and attack my opponent for game. We both are in tears crying of laughter over what just happened. Time is called and I give him the match win. It was and still is one of the best memories in yugioh I ever had at an official event. He later told me I was then only person that said "I know how to side against you" TLDR Dark Synchro vs Kaiju tribute is the funniest match up ever.

I realize there are some slight issues I said in the story. I want to make clear. My endboard for round 4 was in fact Quasar, Blazar, Sifr and Clear Wing. I did in fact use Soul Charge, but I can't remember how I got my Clear wing as it wouldn't make sense zone wise. I think used some tuner plus Jet Warrior. Regardless I wanted to clear that up for confusion.

I got a tale of a match I had earlier in the year. Almost every Thursday, I attend a local tournament at the Geek Retreat in Sunderland, England. One week, I was in a tournament and I brought my Deck, Battlewasp Beetrooper (this was before Ragnaraika _and_ the new Battlewasp support.), and faced off against an opponent playing Shaddoll Dinos. I won the dice roll and went first, getting to the endboard of Seraphim Papillion, Heavy Beetrooper Mighty Neptune, and Number 3: Cicada King... with a Fusion Parasite in the GY. During my End Phase, I activated Neptune's effect, negated that effect with Cicada King, and used Cicada King's other effect to Summon Fusion Parasite from the GY, thus having Fusion Parasite fuse with Neptune to make Millennium-Eyes Restrict. Quick context: Most of the good Beetroopers _do_ have the clause of locking you into Insect monsters... but only while they're on the field. As it turns out, Neptune is one of the Beetroopers that does not have this clause, so you can Special Summon monsters with different Types from your Extra Deck. Also, Fusion Parasite treats itself as any named material on a Fusion Monster, so along with it being an Insect, thus Summonable via Cicada King, you can fuse into whatever Fusion you needed for certain conditions. My opponent makes his plays, me using Called By the Grave on a Misc aside, until he got out an Ultimate Conductor Tyranno. That effect was activated to make all my monsters face-down was activated just to bait out my Millennium-Eyes' effect, equipping said UCT to it. That effect was negated, but he had enough materials in the GY to Summon a second one. My Millennium-Eyes was in Defense Position, and despite gaining both of UCT's ATK and DEF, UCT's ATK is higher than its DEF, so he could run over my monsters, regain its multi-attacking effect, and clean my board so I couldn't come back. ...except he couldn't because Millennium-Eyes also prevents monsters with the same name as the monsters equipped to it from attacking as well. He surrendered. Game 2 began, and he went first, managing to get out a pair of Shaddoll Fusion Monsters, Grysta and Construct. However, I had something else in my Deck: Giant Ballgame is a Continuous Spell that can act as an Insect version of Monster Reborn on the turn it's activated. However, I decided to do something else. I Summoned Sting the Poison, searched Arbalest the Rapidfire, activated Ballgame, and used its second effect: revealing an Arbalest in hand, I swapped my Sting for his Construct. He couldn't get over the stolen Construct, even having that effect of Ballgame activated again to take his Grysta. He eventually surrendered, and it just so happened to be the last match of the night, so I ended up getting 2 OTS packs for finishing in a middling position. He still comes to the locals now and then to this day, but he has a sworn hatred for Insects.

I have a story from this past weekend that happened that was kinda crazy. There was a Regional this past weekend where I was playing Maliss Striker, and had some really rough hands my first three rounds so I was going into round 4 X-3, which was abysmal. My round 4 opponent and I had a conversation before our match about how our matches prior had been rough and how the judges and some players have been out for blood. The round starts and my opponent wins the die roll. They tell me that I can go first which has me thinking they're on a blind second deck. When I start, I go through my combo, starting with the Striker cards first, and get Dormouse on field. I activate Dormouse's effect banishing White Rabbit, once that resolves I activate the White Rabbit effect. "Chain Called By the Grave." "Wait... This is turn 1. You can't activate spell cards from your hand on my turn 1" "Yes I can, it's a Quick Play." "... That's not how that works." "Yes it is." "... Can't believe I have to do this. Judge!" Judge comes over and my opponent tries to argue with the judge for a bit as he explains what I was telling him about quick plays, the judge essentially echoing what I was saying. Eventually my opponent backs off and we continue our game. The whole situation had me so mentally messed up I completely messed up my combo and had to essentially nerf my own endboard just to stay in before passing turn. My opponent draws for turn and then activates Arias to summon Lady Labyrynth. They set a card and send it off of Arianne to special summon Lacrima and go through their Fiendsmith combo, I attempt to use Terahertz to send Packbit which they Called By the Packbit to prevent me from interrupting their combo. They clear my board with a board of Chaos Angel, Lady Labyrynth, and Engraver, and I'm sitting on 1600 LP while I have In Underground in hand. My draw for turn was Talents. I start with In Underground and chain Widow Anchor with 3 spells in grave to take Chaos Angel, White Binder banishes just White Rabbit from my grave and 2 cards from their's. I then reset GWC off of Binder, normal Summon Dormouse which I had added during the opponent's turn, then use the effect of GWC banishing Dormouse after using its effect to banish and summon Chessy Cat. He chains Lady the activation of GWC to set Big Welcome from his deck. I activate Talents to take. "Which card are you taking?" "I'll be taking Lady" "No you can't, I control a set" "Talents doesn't target" "But you can't take her, I have a set." "I know it sounds stupid, but Talents doesn't target and gets around Lady's protection." My opponent is notably annoyed, before he picks up his cards and says "You got it man" and leaves the table. I had 2 friends next to me at the table above and below me. "... How in the world has this not come up to him before?" I'm sitting there baffled, before I turn in the match slip and look around to check on some of my other friends' matches. Saw one of my friends lose to Tistina because he destroyed Evenly Matched since he had no clue what it did, so that was something.

While nowhere near as exciting as this video's story, I recalled one of my past games since the mention of police made me think of other modern heroes. I believe the year was 2005, maybe 2006. I went to a tournament held at a fire station (yes, the kind with a fire truck ready to roll out). My deck was primarily based around spirit monsters; Inaba White Rabbit, Dark Dust spirit, and so on. I didn't have the super expensive and best spirits like Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi or Yamato-no-Orochi, so you could say my deck was a budget deck. I managed to get consecutive wins by constantly summoning Inaba White Rabbit, using Ultimate Offering to summon Dark Dust Spirit, and attacking directly. I also had various other spell (magic at the time) and trap cards that my opponent would prioritize clearing, so I was always able to bait out any problematic removal cards early. Slow and steady was how I played, and it got me pretty far. Then, I was up against a firefighter. He was off duty, and he was here enjoying the game while chatting with his fellow firefighters between matches. He came swinging with a slightly modified Kaiba structure deck, mainly just having added the two extra Blue-Eyes White Dragons from two other structure decks. This man had all the luck; every game, he managed to get all three Blue-Eyes out, and utterly defeat his opponents like Kaiba would to non-protagonist characters. People were thinking he was cheating, but the guy just genuinely had good luck. The man was well known by the locals, and his colleagues vouched for his honesty. He seemed like a good sport too, so I didn't believe the murmurs of his felled foes. We go into the match, and sure enough, he beats the hell out of me with Blue Eyes early on before I could set up. He just had the answers early. In the second round, I managed to win using my rabbit and dust combo. He laughed it off saying that the combo was just dirty, but he wasn't mad or upset; he genuinely found it amusing. During our tie breaker round, he had all three Blue Eyes on the field. I managed to hold on with a Waboku, but I NEEDED to topdeck my Dark Dust Spirit. I had Inaba, and I had Ultimate Offering on the field. As any kid would, I "believed in the heart of the cards", and sure enough, I drew my Dark Dust Spirit. This game was mine; all I need to do is summon Inaba, sacrifice it for Dark Dust Spirit, and send his dragons to the graveyard.Right before I could however, a loud siren went off and scared almost everyone. There was a fire somewhere, and the firefighters quickly gathered to head out. The off duty firefighter paused for a moment, looking at me then back to his colleagues, and he said to me "Watch my cards, kid" before jumping up and rushing over to get ready. He joined his colleagues and left. The judge asked us all to stay calm and resume once the siren stops, and we did just that. The judge also awarded me the victory since my opponent had abruptly left, and I was set to go to my next match. As per the man's request, I gathered his cards and held onto them while going to my next match. Fast forward, and I fell out of the tournament due to losing the next match. Since I had the firefighter's cards, I waited at the entrance while watching the quarter finals and on. About 20 minutes later, the tournament had ended, and the firefighters hadn't returned. I was staying at the entrance of the station, the last participant there since everyone else was leaving. The judge, who happened to also work at the station as... a secretary, I think? Asked if I wanted a ride home, but I told him I was waiting to return the cards to the firefighter I played against. He let me stay and turned on the TV for me to watch something as to not be bored. Fortunately, about 5 minutes later, the truck pulled up and the firefighters came out climbing out one by one. Some were covered in soot and grime, so they clearly put in the work. I watched and waited to find the one firefighter to give him his cards, and he was the last one to leave the truck. His face was weary, and he looked like he was just completely worn out. I walked up to him, handed him his cards, and said that he deserved the win in our match for "being a hero". His face lit up, and he thanked me for taking care of his cards. I later learned that the building he went rushing to despite being off duty was his own home. Apparently, an electrical fire broke out randomly from a faulty power socket. His family was safe, and the only bad thing I knew of was that he had to deal with the cleanup and repairs, but I was able to at least brighten his mood by just a little bit when I gave him his cards back. I never learned how bad the damage was. As a kid, I just thought "Oh, he put out the fire? Cool, everything's fine!", and never really looked into it any further. What matters is that he still had a home to return to, that his family was not present and was never in danger, and that he didn't need to worry about losing his cards.

How I out sharked a shark - For some background context this story is about a famous memelord who went to my locals if you've seen the "daddy will be home soon" neck beard you know the person this person is the "that guy" we've heard stories about, got banned from locals for calling a person of color the R word, dq'd from a tournament for rule sharking a child opponent with German nat beasts, & banned for offerinf to buy cards from a local shop owner right in front of them. Our story actually takes place sometime in 2017 before the grass ban. I was playing infernoids (my pet deck) - G1 turn 1 My opponent wins the die roll but doesnt open broken but does some spyral things but during the end phase forgets to resolve resort. I remind him its a mandatory card effect and we move to my turn. - my turn 1 i attempt to otk but can't so i end on void feast pass - turn 2 he does more spyral shenanigans but again finish me off and passes turn and misses resort for a second time, i promptly call the judge and hes issues a game warning. Turn 3 i cant break his board and scoop going to G2 - G2 i let him start with hopes of an infernoid otk. He ends on a decent but breakable board, sets 3, fails to resolve resort AGAIN, & passes - my turn and the final turn of the duel, i draw for turn and my opponent flips imperial iron wall. My heart stops as I dont have an out but i look up and call the judge. My opponent then asks why and i remind him he didnt resolve resort for a third time in the match. The judge comes over hears the case & issues a game loss to my opponent. After the fact the judge asks to see my hand and with no out to the iron wall he shakes his head and walks away. My locals is was always a "play like its a big event" crowd. Our most well known player is Jeremy Mitchell who had multiple ycs tops and got 4th at worlds in 2023. So this kind of rule sharking wasnt uncommon. Thanks for the read

I have never played Yu GI oh with another person beside in master duel, I was probably one of the few kids that had cards back then and I had em all in English so I couldn't understand them. I always liked cards and used to have a bunch of first edition cards. Some day my grandma decided to give them away because we were moving houses and according to her since I had them in a box under my bed I never played with them little did she know i didn't play with them because I liked to look at them and keep them. 20 years later it still hurts but now I can buy my own cards. What's funny is that I know for sure I would still have them because I also had some MTG cards that I still keep

Hey Loom. So earlier this year when I went back to Locals after a 2 year hiatus. I currently had just finished Round 2 of a 4 Round Locals. And was 1-2. Just as Round 4 was about to start. Some crazy lady in the parking lot crashed into a couple of parked cars. And nearly hit a fellow duelist. The cops showed up took a statement and likely went to arrest the lady. I finished on a 1-3 record. As of typing this im currently retired from official tournament play. I now enjoy casual play amongst friends.
