Do you ever hit major traffic jams? There are lots in Florida. No mountains in Florida, Just landfill mounds. No interstates? Great views. Yes, rocks falling would concern me. Maybe I might overreact. You pan for gold? 70 here in Florida on the highways. People including my son go 80-85! And people pass! See any moose on this drive? Did I hear there was an earthquake the other day? You mentioned camping. Are the campgrounds pretty well maintained do you know? Thanks for the ride. You are a great tour guide. I do have one last question. You are a parent of four boys living in AK. Would you say someone, well my 20 yr. old son, who suffers from anxiety and depression fit in living there with its laid back lifestyle? Thought I’d ask. Any input I’d appreciate. Keep the videos coming. Good night from Sebastian, Florida.

Good Afternoon Hamm Family ❤️ It's hot, sunshiny day here in Virginia... 90°F and climbing. Ugh... I miss the cooler temperatures. My body was not meant for heat 🥵 Beautiful scenery, as always. I love long, winding roads, especially when the scenery is beautiful and serene. One of my favorite roads is along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the many backroads: countryside, forest, mountains, valleys and foothills, and the different waterways - rivers, lakes, streams, creeks, perhaps a waterfall. And yes, these road trips are worth the time, but make sure you plan ahead, especially if your time is limited. I love all the quaint small town sights, shops, diners, scenic overlooks and other places along the way to see and/or do. What a beautiful time it would be to ride a train through Alaska 🏞️ I'll have to keep Mark in check driving Alaskan roads. He forgets he's not rushing to an emergency - Firefighter and Deputy. Nah, he's an exceptional driver with defensive driving skills. I always feel safe with him behind the wheel 🚘 Gold mining sounds fun. I have a friend whose Husband does it down here in the south (hobby). It's hard-work, but worth it if you succeed in finding some gold 🪙 I'm all for a sunshiny day when on a scenic road trip, but every now and then a rainy day can be just a serene: even a rainy day can be beautiful 🌧️ It's amazing how much there is to see and do in a land of such a wild expanse both difficult and limited on how to maneuver... but the scenery makes it worth it 🌳 I'd love to visit the Alaska Wildlife Reserve to see and learn more about all the beautiful wildlife Alaska has to offer 🐻 Snow-capped mountains are absolutely gorgeous whether the surrounding areas are white with snow or green and lush 🏔️ I've always wanted to go white water rafting, but sadly, I never got around to doing it while my body was still functioning properly 😢 The little mining town of Hope sounds absolutely lovely and worth the 16 mile detour. And salmon to boot. Yes!! I love salmon, especially King and Sock-eye: smoked, pan-seared, grilled, baked/roasted, broiled, in packets (foil or parchment)... and, if there is skin, make it crispy. Mmmm 😋 I love that y'all's first date was something outdoorsy and fun. When we first started dating, I lived in Florida while Mark was in Virginia. Our first official date was when he came down to Florida for a week to meet my folks and Bry. We went on a hike, just us, and enjoyed a picnic. We spent a day with Bry tubing/floating down the Ichetucknee and another picnic. Then we spent a day at Silver Springs with my folks and Bry. The rest of the time we spent at the lake (my folks' home) boating, knee-boarding and swimming, with a little fishing mixed in. A wonderful time and great memories 🚤 Forest fires are devastating. It may take time, yet once the flora and fauna return it proves just how resilient nature is 🏕️ Cooper Landing sounds like a fun getaway and I love the little shops along Homer Spit. Bennett always makes me smile... the sillier the better. I love the bear bench for all the Husbands waiting for their Wives to break the bank. LoL 😁 Thank you for taking me along with you on your road trip. I pray your time spent was amazing 😊 I'm off to finish up some chores. Take care and have a great day. Yah's Blessings ❤️

I have a friend who lived in Homer until her husband died about 12 years ago. She had to move to Iowa to be close to family it was too much for her to take care of the place and maintain the lifestyle. She misses it. Hard decision and hard to move back to the states. She’s okay and all Is well. Just sad. She loved it there.
