How about picking up some Cinestill 800T film whilst you are over there. Cities like Hong Kong e.t.c. are the ideal location to shoot it. And it's a reworked cinema film stock so would be great for some Blade Runner style night shots.

damn it, youtube chucked this message in the spam folder so I never saw it. Thanks for the tip, I have just arrived in Singapore and it looks like theres a lot of shops selling film so I will hunt around for this. Ive never heard of it, will do some research as I really only have knowledge of the most common film stocks.

The RZ67 was one of my favorite medium format cameras. I've always wanted a decent RZ67 kit along with a Hassie 500 kit. Sigh...

I have the same strap on my RZ as well. Makes a big difference considering the weight of the camera.

Super cool video, Mamiya is awesome (the underappreciated MF came brand). Love to see the results! I would take my Nikon F4, Nikkor 80-200mm f2.8, Tokina AT-X 28-70mm f2.8 and SAMYANG 8mm f3.5 fisheye…. Maybey throwing in a SIGMA 105mm f2.8 Macro. Oh and my D7200 for digital.

How has the ball head been working out for you? Turns out that I hated working with ball heads on any of my Mamiya MF cameras because they are almost impossible to adjust finely. Eventually I ended up getting a Manfrotto XPro 3way Head.

nice setup! I used to live in HK - great for night shooting with all the neon lights and bustling streets. My current travel setup is pretty similar: RB67 with 50mm f4.5, minolta x700 35 f2.8 & 50 f1.4, Contax T2 and a bunch of 35 and 120 film + my sekonic L608. Seems like you got a pretty well-rounded kit! Good luck with shooting HK. Also btw what model are your tripod legs...looking for a good/affordable option for my RB..

Ye i loved HK, it was exactly how I remembered it from a few years back. I didn't get to shoot that much in HK because my girlfriend had never been there before so we were busy most days doing all the touristy stuff. I really wish I could go back and spend a week there by myself shooting the streets. You have a nice kit too, I really wish i had a better sekonic, i struggle with metering just on the l308s. I try to use just the sekonic but sometimes I check the exposure with my digital camera and so some of my shots my metering has been well off. I think a lot of my films has been ruined from the xray scanners at airports anyway, Ive managed to tell most airport staff not to put it through the machine but a few times they just didnt understand what I was talking about and put it through the machine. Yet to scan some of the HK shots and see what results are like Re tripod - there are lots of different chinese brands producing the same one but this is the one I got, i'll do a video review of it soon as its actually pretty damn good for the price - amzn.to/2F1bcGy (thats my amazon affiliate link, feel free to support the channel if you do decide to buy it)

twotwofresh 1 second ago Great video Paul, loving the medium format look. Could you advise where you can find one of these in the uk? Also could you recommend a suitable lens?

I got mine from eBay. You will find a lot pf rz67's on eBay UK. Most of them will be from Japan and it's safe to buy from them as far as I know. The 110mm lens that I bought came from US (I bought it on ebay too). You prepay the customs (which does add more to the price) but it means you wont get hit with any surprise costs. I'm pretty sur eits the same if buying from Japanese listings. re lens, it really depends what you are into. The 110mm is the equivalent of a 50mm on a full frame 35mm so it is considered a general purpose lens. I had the 180mm and did enjoy using it but for this trip I wanted something smaller. The 180mm can be picked up quite cheap, i sold mine for £100. If you want something wider go for the 50mm or 65mm

How did you get on going through x-rays with your films ?
@ThisDesignedThat
@ThisDesignedThat 4 жыл бұрын
I did a few videos about it which you can see on the channel, it looks like the xray did affect the film slightly. I have just heard that the new CT xray machine are being installed in airports are now even stronger and kodak have confirmed the new machines will damage your film :( - have a read - facebook.com/kodakprofessional/photos/a.272982146053466/3171302796221372/
