Things a subscriber of This Esme should know: - Willow gets medicine, basically donkey painkiller - Mickey eats the fastest - Joey is now at the top of the pecking order (Casper got kicked off) - Of course, you got to know all their colours accordingly - Esme is definitely a glove person - Bruno gets a tiny bit less than Toby because he's on the chonky side - Magic brush is basically just a plastic curry comb - Joey and Casper have the same size boots and rugs - 3 horses that love rolling - Joey is very affectionate - ESME AND HER MATCHY MATCHY SETS I'm frantically typing so put anything else I missed.

I love how Joey just lets Esme do some stretches with him then there is me with Jack and he barely even picks up his feet for hoof picking. Such a fun time when spending 10 minutes to just pick up one of his front feet. Luckily he picks up his back feet but he usually does not like his feet being cleaned. Nearly got a kick to the face. But I love Jack with all my heart just like Esme loves Joey (I decided to pick Joey because his name is shorter) 💕 Edit: wow thank you for the likes-

This channel is an inspiration for me and it's why I loved horse riding in recent times before lockdown but what is so sad is a lot of horse riding centres are being liquidated or simply declared bankrupt by their creditors as it's an expensive business. But my new agenda is to start a career in the animal sector and applied for a L3 course on the outskirts of Leeds of The M1 J43-J45 where the campus is located.

Esme: Always check your girths guys! Me: My 12 year old 5 foot body Struggling to lift my westerns saddle onto my 14 hand gelding. Later on in that ride he bolted, my girth was loose. By the time i knew what was going on i was on the ground and he had a saddle under his belly. I love the way you cherish your horses Esme, and put so much heart and soul into your channel too. I always get a lot of joy from watching your videos with my teenage daughter. This one time though, I do feel the need to comment on your use of legs aids with Joey. The ideal in any training is pressure followed by release, so any pressure applied needs to be balanced with the immediate reward of it being taken away at the right time (relief is the reward). In this video you appear to be constantly niggling at Joey with the spurs, which creates constant discomfort. He is such a willing and good boy that he will most likely put up with it, despite the confusion it generates (i.e he can't get away from it). If you use spurs as a method, your sensitivity to the moment where the horse even slightly moves into doing what you ask (the reward moment) is essential. Otherwise it is just endless physical nagging which will confuse and maybe even deaden him longer term. He needs a chance to 'get it right' (for example moving forward with extension) and know that he's done that, so he can do it again :) This includes allowing a moment where he can clearly make a mistake, for example you would choose not to drive him forwards and let him get sluggish, then correct him with your legs/spurs. Then relax pressure immediately again as he responded. The target is that he learns to maintain the pace and his outline for himself once you set it.
